I finished my iva in August 2013 and never had any issues with missed payments or changes in circumstances,in fact the creditors acheived more funds than what was stipulated at the start of the process.
Then I waited patiently for my completion certificate .. I waited ..... and waited and eventually phoned and was told that I had a variation meeting scheduled for April to sort out the outstanding ppi ..... Fine then the April date came and went and I was told it was postponed due to my creditors needing more time to prepare and lodge their votes ...... Really they have had 5 years 8 months. I am so confused, initially I thought this was standard practice and was a formality of me getting my certificate ... Now I just don't know, can anyone help or make any suggestions?. The company I used was Debt Free Direct.
It used to be standard procedure to receive your completion certificate within a month or two but the PPI fiasco has put a stop to that for the vast majority of people
Interestingly Stepchange produced a certificate 16 days after final payment for a forum member recently so it can be done
Agree with Andy, standard practice but the PPI is holding things up with SOME companies but not all I too had received my certificate within 3 months of last payment. It would appear to be he who shouts loudest too so keep badgering your company.
In my opinion all wrong and you've met your obligations so should be allowed to move on with your debt free life.
Hope it's received very soon for you.
IVA final payment left the bank on the 26th January 2013...looking forward to a debt free future.

Hi Laura - if you contact DFD (as previous post), I would be very interested to hear outcome if you managed to resolve issue and get Completion Certificate?
I've been waiting nearly 18 months for CC from DFD after completing IVA properly, getting nowhere and now considering 'alternative' options to ensure 'fair play'?
Did you agree to the variation of terms proposed recently Laura? You would have had to consider what was being proposed to be varied, and have agreed to those changes in advance, for your IVA to be amended. Had you done so, I am surprised that are not more aware of the issues which are preventing your case from being closed.
