Hi just a quick question, Im going throu with payplan and just wondered how long average it takes for a IVA to be set up.
The reason im asking as we first contacted Payplan just after the new year, I spoke to them this morning to find out what was the hold up as we are now into the 6th week,
There responce was they are waiting to hear from creditors as the letters to act was sent out on the 12th of feb, I returned these to them mid jan soes it normally take this long, Monday will be the start of our 7th week and we havnt even got to setting up a creditors meeting yet
This seems very long and we try to get to a meeting of creditors within 4-6 weeks. You need to find out from Payplan what is causing the delay and when you can expect a proposal.
Things can often take longer that the 4-6 weeks quoted by most insolvency practitioners, however I wonder if Payplan use the obtaining of credit reports from their clients as an alternative to writing to them individually.
We do this in my firm, and find that this does speed up the process quite efficiently.
Thanks all, rang them and spoke to them. they are just doing a final check before setting a meeting up, but also said there was a delay in post of my letter to act getting to them. they got it 26 days after i sent it
Payplan seem to have a real problem with post even if it sent recorded delivery it get lost? One girl did admit to me that a lot of their post goes astray quite where I don't know. I have had this problem time and time again. Fortunately I am now able to email documents to them and I suggest you do this if you can. However not everyone can do this and it does seem crazy that you cannot rely on sending things in the post.
This is a more recent problem, it did not happen when set up my IVA.
Probably the age old problem of under resourcing ! In an organisation I used to work for we discovered an admin bod was tipping mail down the lift shaft to reduce her workload --- luckily the lifts were serviced regularly and it was discovered before it got out of hand!
My opinions are merely that .. opinions based on experience. Always seek professional advice.
IVA Completed 23rd July 2013 .... C.C. 10th January 2014
Yes that's probably what's happening Foggy she did say an outside company deals with their post. What worrying is though is a lot of it contains very personal details!
A sign of the times I afraid.
I do email everything to them althou these had to be returned by post, They sent my proposal to me a few days ago. i did the fine tune comb read of everything including every term signed and sent back same day. it was received the next day so it seems selective with the post. i think its more along the lines of delayed processing than lost post
