Hi guys,

Ok so ive started mine and my wifes IVA, 2 payments no probs so far, fingers crossed.

Anyway without trying to go into too much detail I am currently already employed within the civil service. I've applied for a job with Border Force as a Border Force Officer which is also civil service and it would be treated as a level transfer I believe. Anyways when I went for my interview it was mentioned that the security check that gets done may involve some sort of financial check also. I just wondered if anybody had experienced a similar scenario or if anybody knows if my IVA will count against my application?

Thanks for any help/advice

Hi, glad to hear the IVA is running smoothly for you. No experience myself but have bumped this up for another poster to comment on.
IVA final payment left the bank on the 26th January 2013...looking forward to a debt free future.

I am civil service too ...swapping between departments s ok ...there will be a check done by the border force agency but you should be fine .... A colleague who has gone bankrupt recently successfully moved from DWP to Border Force.

Be honest on any paperwork ...

It is unlikely that you will need a full financial check for this type of transfer, but if they do ask you any questions about your financial situation don't hide anything as they will undoubtedly conduct their own checks at the same time.

well just a quick thanks to everyone on here for the advice and encouragement on this and another thread. The good news the security checks went through after they asked for some extra financial info and they will recheck financial situ in another 12 months. After my initial application went in in June '13 I start next month! thanks again
