I just recieved a letter regarding ppi insurance claim which DFD advised that they have to refer a case to FOS but the insurance was a extended warranty for goods ie a tv so how come DFD are classing this as ppi i dont understand how both are the same and i knew i was taking out the extended warranty.Would like some advise on this i have finished my iva in may 2012 and my total debt was just over £31,000.00 which i have included ppi, overtime and my payments each month of just over £41,000.00.I have not received a cc and looks like 2015 in which im still on the register until then.

Hmmm ... I know the paperwork that GT were asking clients to sign regarding PPI, gave them authority to investigate PPI and "similar issues". If DFD's terms are the same then they will look at anything that might possibly have been mis-sold. If the extended warranty was included in the finance for the TV there might be an arguement due to the fact that you were then paying interest on an insurance which might not have been required ( many extended warranties are not actually worth the paper they are written on, and, over the term of the loan, will have cost more than it would have been to simply replace the product).

I bought some trousers a few years ago which were OBVIOUSLY the wrong size .... should I get my IP to reclaim for them ????? (sorry ... being sarky there).

Pete .... The point of asking was the actual answer you got, which was fair and to the point --- the "sarky" final paragraph was a comment on the stupid PPI / extended warranty situation.

I appreciate that you might not have had a good year -- maybe, like me, you have lost a wife and become a single parent this year.

I shall continue to post in my normal fashion and try to bring a little sunshine into people's lives. I shall, as I am sure you will appreciate, not respond to your posts again.

Pete.sm - I think you mis-read Foggy's reply. I read it as being sarky towards the whole PPI farce and not towards you.
