Hi,
I have completed my IVA last year and the final payment was taken on DEC 2012. Grant Thornton initially said that the closure certificate will be sent 6 months after completion. We are now in December and upon several times in contact with GT there seems to be little progress. The last time i heard ,they said that the case was forwarded to their closures team and that the case was closed in AUG.
Although GT have been good i find them really slow in reacting. Is there anything i can do to get my completion certificate please?
Hi, it would appear this can be a fault of GT in some if not most cases as all too often we read this about closure on the forum. All I can suggest is you keep badgering them as although it's not right it is often he who shouts loudest.
IVA final payment left the bank on the 26th January 2013...looking forward to a debt free future.
You have to keep badgering them several times a week to get it sorted if you have a maximum time on your iva (normally 60months) they will of already breached this and you have to point this out.
Most problems lie with GT getting caught out by the taxman over VAT when they ruled all bought IVA's are liable for tax and GT's obsessive buying out of portfolios on a already strained system along with the whole PPI grab they currently undertaking.
It's a pity such a big company is getting away with messing thier customers about but i have seen them actually managing to close cases recently.
So keep at em keeping quiet about it puts you at the back of the long queue.

Time to end of GT dealing with it...CC recieved after a battle royal !!
Karol no longer posts, it seems, but I gather she does monitor the forum, so might see this thread. Alternatively drop her a line on ivacustomerservices@uk.gt.com putting only "IVA FORUM" in the subject line.
She is very good at getting problems addressed.
My opinions are merely that .. opinions based on experience. Always seek professional advice.
IVA Completed 23rd July 2013 .... C.C. 10th January 2014
You can also invoke the firm's complaints procedures if you feel that your efforts so far are not reaching the right ears. We have seen evidence that this can often assist to speed matters along, but hopefully it won't come to this as they may be now able to sort things out for you. Ask to speak to someone in authority next time and record who they are and what their position with the firm is.
Thank you all for the valuable information. I have sent GT an email asking them to resolve this. I hope they look into this as it is getting out of hand.
