Hello,

I have now completed my IVA and awaiting my certificate. I have had a company 'Claims Brokers' send me a lot of PPI claim forms so that my IVA company can claim anything that is owed. These people did this 18 mnths - 2 yrs ago and claimed back £12,600 which was sent into my IVA. Why would they issue the same Authorization papers to me when this was already done.

Also I opened a new bank account which I applied for 5 yrs ago which was advice I was given at the time and was sent a credit card, while I was waiting acceptance to be granted an IVA. I have used this card and I am paying the provider as this is not in my IVA, but Claims Broker are applying for PPI from them will this harm my relationship with my card provider and where do I stand with this.

Advice would be very much appreciated

Karen

Welcome to the forum,
I believe you are not supposed to have any credit while in an IVA although some people are allowed £500 but it specifically mentions it in the proposal, I don't have that clause so am allowed no credit at all.
I would check with your IP as they now know about the card and you may be in a potential breach of your IVA.
I wouldn't worry about it harming any relationship with your card provider, if there is no ppi on it there is no claim. are you in a position to clear the debt on it?

Hi Peejayel,

Thanks for that no Im paying it off through the card provider. I have heard back from my IVA people and have been told to ignore the PPI claim forms as they have already been dealt with and can confirm that £12,600 has been paid to them.

Why would my bank send me a credit card then, they have even given me an account with an overdraft and they done all the credit checks on me, this is where I am confused. My fault really and should have cut it up.

You were probably given it as when you set up the account you were still not in an IVA, so it wasn't showing on a credit check, you should have been told by your company when they told you to get a new account to get just a basic account with no overdraft limit and no credit cards.
