hiya everyone,

After five long years i have completed my IVA with grant thornton, i have made every payment and completed all documentation on time every year.

I made my last payment in July 13 and was eagerly awaiting my final compeltion certificate having spoken to GT and been tpld it was all done. Today i received a phone call from GT saying that the company that they employed to check my PPI reclaim hasnt recieved any paperwork from me so they could not finsh my IVA. I told them that i signed and sent the paperwork back two years ago, the lady on the phone told me this is a common reply.

I am outraged and upset, i now have to wait for new forms, does anyone know

1. how long this will take ?
2. Is this common with GT.
3. Is there anything i can do to speed the process up.
thanks in advance

jon

Hi john , sorry to hear of your trouble , my experience isn't with gt , but I've just finish my PPI investigations with my PPI company today , this has taken11 months from start to finish , keep putting on the presure and try and get a email for a a manager/supervisor who you can keep in regular contact with . This helped me speed up the process .

Hi Jon,
1) how long is a piece of string ?
2) this seems to be common with a couple of the larger claims companies used by the larger insolvency firms -- why they continue to use them is beyond me (unless there is some financial gain to the IP).
3) all you can do is co-operate with reasonable requests.
My opinions are merely that .. opinions based on experience. Always seek professional advice.
IVA Completed 23rd July 2013 .... C.C. 10th January 2014

Terrible - so unfair. As foggy suggests comply with their requests in the hope that this can be speeded up for you so the end can be finalised.

Moneybox program suggested claims company's shouldn't be used, that it is easy to make a claim yourself and is quicker to do than relying on them to do it.
