Love all these posts. Everyone has their own little necessities and hopefully a treat to.
Tina..your comments, as always are lovely. What a kind and supportive person you are. Your clients are in very good and caring hands.
Carole...its funny I hate tesco with a vengence even more so theae last few years I wont go back to them for everything its aldi and lidl then tesco or one of the other supermarkets for the bits I cant get.
I still shop the same. Today I was invited as a fantastic customer of previous years to the sale of the local department store before it goes out to the public...what did I buy? Not a thing, couldn't do it. I think I can finally say that I'm cured of the reckless spending habit I was in pre-IVA.
Also, my husband and I have never been happier, at times pre-IVA I stayed with him for our youngest daughter and as soon as she was off to uni I was off too but now we're happy very happy a new lease for us. The IVA has really shown us both what is valuable in life and its not money x
IVA final payment left the bank on the 26th January 2013...looking forward to a debt free future.
I struggled to buy anything the first month. I was too scared and felt guilty. I felt naughty buying extras in the shopping. I need to replace everything it is a slow process. However, I am enjoying paying for car insurance in one go instead of monthly. I am trying to do things like that as much as possible rather than paying the extra interest by paying monthly. Now that makes me feel rich! Oh and paying for 12 months road tax instead of six. I even took the car to the garage for a service!

Month 1 Cancel S/O (£250), take wife out for dinner somewhere nice! buy kids all a present.
Month 2 Start another S/O for the same amount. But this time it will be going to the Halifax so that I can start to hit a b***** good hole in the mortgage!
Then..... relax
I have taken my partner out for a meal and that was a lovely feeling, him not paying and today I treated myself to a new dress which cost £55, it is for a black tie event we are going to but before i would have had to wear something really cheap while all the other ladies are dressed in full ball gown type clothes. The practical side of me chose a dress I can wear again if we go somewhere nice.
To anyone that is still on their journey,
It will end and you will feel so much happier with everything
last payment made August 2013,Completion Certificate received 12 November 2014
I really want to start going to gigs again. As an ageing rocker I really miss live music. The cost of tickets for established rock bands these days is horrendous!! Even for less well known bands you are looking at £25 a ticket, which for 2 of us to go makes it impossible.
Carl.
If you think nobody cares whether you're alive or dead, try missing a couple of credit card payments!!!
I love seeing this thread pop up every so often to read what you have to look forward to - I hope it goes on and on and gets added to as more of you look to the future and have a 'treat plan' in place

My car is old, by the time I finish the IVA will be veryyyyy old, lets hope it survives.
I'm thinking in buying another car to replace it, hopefully by then there will be some used electric cars for sale, and start saving on fuel as well
