over 3 years ago we let a company investigate PPI for us, they came up blank and did not win us any refund, last month our loan company said they had reviewed proceedures and we were owned money which once we agreed we were paid. Now the PPI investigating company have sent us a letter requesting payment, but the dont know how much as they dont know how much we got, me feelings are our business with them was closed in spring 2010 and they are owed nothing, can anyone concur?

It will depend upon the nature of the contract you signed with the PPI company, as to whether they are entitled to a fee. If they have done no work on that account recently, I would struggle to see why they are actually entitled to one to be frank.

thanks for that will keep you posted how we go on
yesterdays phonecall was a stand off, we said we had no invoice, they said they had sent one, and as we would not give information over the phone they "fair trade practice" said they would send one again!

HELP REALLY SCARED NOW
reieved and invoice from Fairtrade saying they wone £20k+ for us and the want £6k+ in fees, we actually got £10k from First plus and reduced loan payments. But our last contact with the fairtarde guy was when he phoned us in MAY 2010 to say the ombudsman said we had no claim, which as far as we were concerned concluded our business ie no win no fee. when first plus notofied us directly of there error in July 2013 we accepted it with no contact from fairtrade, and were not aware first plus had sent them information too, at no point did fairtrade conatct us to advise us to reject or accept the offer. the bill from fairtrade is very threatening with losts of costs for late payment letters etc if we dont settle in 14 days, i think we should seek legal advise quickly, comment please

Contact trading standards as this smells a funny colour to me. Can fairtrade prove they had anything to do with your reclaimed amount?

Fair Trade Practice charge 25% + VAT for their service.

First Plus must of been one of the Companies they initially attempted to reclaim PPI from on your behalf, otherwise First Plus wouldn't of contacted them when paying out your claim.......even after such a long time.

If the reduced loan payments and VAT total around £10k in addition to your £10k payout (unless you also received PPI from any other source) then I think the Company, depending on your agreement, will unfortunately still have a claim and as you disagree you would be best seeking legal advice, after all had Fair Trade not of contacted First Plus, would you still of received a payout?
