Recipients of these letters, not having been miss-sold PPI, should visit their local MP and get their advice.

You could even forward it to Watchdog or Martin Lewis at Moneysavingexpert....PPI is just down his street.

If neccessary sign the GT letter, annotate it that you do not feel you have been miss-sold PPI and take a copy.

Its a terrible situation when if you dont sign it your IVA may fail and if you do sign it then your gonna be waiting 12 -18 months for a CC.
I came into this world with nothing and still have most of it left!

We "signed" the letter Monday (or rather e-mailed) our consent. At the end of the day, what have we got to lose? If we don't sign things will get dragged out anyway. We don't believe we have any mis-sold PPI, however who knows from years ago? As for the fact that GT will get x amount for doing this for us, the creditors must know this & have agreed to it so basically let them get on with it! Think we've finally resigned ourselves to the fact that regardless of whether we sign or not, it's going to be at least another 6 months before we receive our CC. Still not happy about lack of communication though and may possibly take this further - I asked for an acknowledgment e-mail to our agreement, didn't get one so rang for confirmation. I asked why we hadn't received acknowledgment & the guy on the phone laughed & said "oh you won't get one, we don't do that"!!!!! Says it all really. Anyway, diaried on for 6 months & then we'll see.

says it all really about a so called 1st class company.you wont get a reply!!!
think that this ppi business will eventually make a few companys go down the pan as we can see some companys know how to conduct themselves and others are playing at being an iva company.
cc received 6th January 2014 now upwards and onwards

Mel,
the benefits are keeping the interest of the PPI refunds which does not apply to us as the PPI was used to make F&F happen, the V A T issue which on our annual report was listed as irrecoverable and to bring us in line with GT and their terms to allow closure while PPI is investigated but ALL our PPI has been done so to us there is no reason to change anything ,

What actully bothers me is the fact they can tell me my IVA is in arrears just to get us to contact them and then ask about MVM
I got a call back yesterday from a nice lady Danielle who informed me that GT customer services were not even aware these letters were going out and that if our payments had been in arrears the we would not be in the closure que
I fell for the poor people who are in the same situation but not as able to cope as I am this sort of thing can tip you over the edge in what is already a stressful time, do they not realise how damaging this sort of thing can be

luluj,

I have said I want to make a complaint after the 14th phone call I told them that if they contacted us again I would take this higher and complain about harrassment they stopped the phone calls yes but noe resort to letters apparently to complain I have to write in to them and after I have calmed down believe me that is the way I will be going

I would suggest keep a lot of all calls, a print of all emails and a copy of all letters and get them in a file to present if necessary.
IVA final payment left the bank on the 26th January 2013...looking forward to a debt free future.

Hi lesley,
I only have a log of all the calls to my mobile but the dates etc have been kept I haven't included the calls to my home phone inbetween these, it makes my blood boil to think they are pressuring people after reading another post on how a doorstep visitor would not leave until they had signed the MVM , I too have had a text message saying they are going to send some one to our house and when i tried to reply no thank you the message just keeps bouncing back

I would keep it all as it's evidence of harassment in my humble opinion, Do you have a mobile phone that will record? I've an app on my phone and warn the person (only used it once to Sky) that I will be recording the conversation, surprisingly things were sorted. So long as you tell them you're recording it, should be fine.

no unfortunately i can not record the calls but they have them recorded and I have already told them to go back over the conversations and listen to our responses, I am hoping now that Danielle is involved this will be an end to it but they told us every time we spoke on the phone they would update our records and so far never have

Seems like some IVA providing companies act with the same ethics as the likes of Mercers and their ilk.

Perhaps they need reporting to the relevant governing bodies and investigating for continued harassment and possible malpractice.

If more people complained via the correct routes, about the same issues, the regulatory bodies would have to investigate these practices. They may not necessarily e wrong, but this is sure getting a lot of people's backs up.
