Hi Andrew,

You have informed them of this compensation award, so have complied with the IVA and so you can probably just keep it safe in your own bank account (without spending it) until they bother to respond or review your payments, as no doubt you will be asked to pay this to the IVA pot at some point in time even 12 months+ later. As far as the Solicitor is concerned it is your compensation and can only be paid to you, just make sure you get it and that the Solicitor does not keep hold of it...he does not need a reply from the IP in my humble unqualified opinion.

Cheers, Mark

Letter from Grant Thornton stated he had to hold onto funds when paid, so he advised them of amount Etc and as he stated in his letter to me GT's involvement will delay payment of funds to me,

Don't really have a gripe with Solicitor more the delay in getting a response from GT and also GT not returning calls or only part answering emails, Does anyone have complaint contact details so I can escalate to get the response I am overdue for .

From one of their emails:

With regard to my firm's complaints procedure, the process has 3 primary steps as follows:

1 If a client expresses unhappiness with the service provided by this firm, then in the first instance the concerns will be dealt with by the manager responsible for the area that gave rise to the complaint and you will receive a formal response in that regard within one month of the date of this letter. Should we require additional time to investigate the matter, you will of course be advised accordingly.

2 If the matter cannot be resolved by the relevant manager, you can then direct your complaint to my designated senior member of staff Mr Paul Madden at Grant Thornton, Waters Edge, Clarendon Dock, Belfast, BT1 3BH.

3 If you continue to be dissatisfied with my firm's response to your complaint, you can then write to Ms Fiona Beighton - the Head of Quality & Risk Management who deals with any complaints arising from the firm's recovery department - at Grant Thornton UK LLP, 30 Finsbury Square, London, EC2P 2YU.

In the unlikely event that my firm is unable to resolve your complaint you can then complain to my regulatory body – the Insolvency Practitioners Association.
My opinions are merely that .. opinions based on experience. Always seek professional advice.
IVA Completed 23rd July 2013 .... C.C. 10th January 2014

Or you can circumnavigate the stall tactics of GT's complaint policy and complain directly to the Government body responsible for the Insolvency Services. The complaint has to be with reference to the IP not the company. Use the link below,

Last Payment made 04/12/14. Completion Certificate 25/7/15. IVA company GT. No Issues
