hi,

I finished payments for my IVA May 2012 and am still waiting for completion certificate :-( I am with DFD and am stuck in this PPI hell hole, EIF have had my case si ce last year and have jjst received 3 more authority to act forms to sign - again!!! Two of these are for companies that were not even part of my IVA creditors, and were old debts paid off before my IVA - surely this has nothing to do with my IVA????and should not hold up my completion certificate??

Hi Shelene. They will investigate PPI from whatever source -- the creditor doesn't have to be included in your IVA. A PPI refund is an asset wherever it comes from.

Isn't it a shame that we are still seeing complaints about this company, if I was someone looking to employ or recommend a CMC then they wouldn't be this one!

Om shanti, namesté, good luck to all who are embarking on the IVA journey, it isn't always an easy one but the outcome is the best.

IVA COMPLETED August 2012, received Completion certificate 18.4.13.

It just doesn't seem right, I'm very sure I'm not owed any. PPI, but if I was owed anything;: from companies paid off before the IVA then u would think it wouldn't be included. , also that my IVA was settled over a year ago via F&F settlement.
Can they legally force me to sign authority to act forms for previous creditors not in my paid up IVA?
I'm fed up with all this now :-(

I had trouble with EIF I told them I was not mias sold and wasn't going to claim it. DFD sent me a disaclaimer to sign (that I wouldn't try to claim ppi after my iva from companies on my iva) I signed it and completed. My iva via a f and f offer However I had to fight for this via the compaints procedure.

I signed just to get my closure cert. I was told closure would not go ahead without ppi being looked in to. I insisted I didn't have any, they searched and found some on a credit card from 1998, they are pushing to get a payment of £8.31 off Barclaycard. I would think admin costs eic more to push for this claim but I have my closure cert so they can do what they like.

What's the difference between a closure and completion certificate? Can u use this to sort out credit file etc? It says on my credit report that I still have an 'outstanding public record' and a few creditors still have me as defaulting :-(

Sorry I meant completion certificate, I only received mine in June so I haven't even checked my credit files yet. I have checked the insolvency register and I am of that tho. From what I gather the defaults should drop off after 6 years of the beginning date of your iva, but you would have needed your completion cert, which your ip should have sent to your creditors. I believe you can send a copy of the certificate to the credit agencies and ask they amend dates tho.

I am waiting for my CC also and stuck in the PPI thing. However I emailed DFD I think it was Matt form this forum and I got a very prompt reply saying that they can close my IVA and deal with PPI seperately but there has to be a variation meeting and creditors need to agree, so I am waiting for a variation meeting date now. Why does this need to happen I wonder.
Anyway the reply stated that they have to give creditors 28 days notice for the meeting, so I am still waiting but only made last payment in November 2012 so not half as bad a some.

Why do they need a variation meeting, when a simple assignment of your claim to them ought to suffice?
