[whats occuring here ? I have a Coop account and have done since my IVA started, i have had no problems thus far and my account as far as im aware is carrying on. I am in my last year of the IVA with about 8 months to run, should i be worried with the coop, i have had 2 breaks in my IVA so need it sorting as it be a shame to ruin my IVA with so little time left. The IVA so far has been hassle free and problem free HELP
Reading this has just sent me into a blind panic as I have a co -op account and my direct debits are due out today. I already have a cashminder account. I checked through the T&C's I was sent recently but couldn't find anything abut closing current accounts, presumably because mine is already a cashminder? I still have another 20 months left in my IVA, do hope I can get through it without having to change my bank account.
We were advised by the co -op if you have a cashminder account you would be fine, its only those who have a current account that are * at risk * of having their accounts closed
These shinanigans only relate to the current accounts operated by Co-Op -- if you have a Cashminder you should not be affected. If you have a current account other than a Cashminder it would be prudent to open a "lifeboat" account somewhere ---- either a Cashminder or something like the Cash Transactor account with the Yorkshire Building Society.
My opinions are merely that .. opinions based on experience. Always seek professional advice.
IVA Completed 23rd July 2013 .... C.C. 10th January 2014
