Sounds like a default record.

BTW: Creditor Searchers do not get to see who the agreements and other searches are with. Only you get to see that on your report. They just see that a search has been made.

So, all the creditors will see is that the account is settled?

There is no mention of a default date only a start date, an update date, status 'settled' & further down where is says customer update it shows status as partial settlement, with the explanation 'Payment received as a full and final settlement although the payment would not fully clear the balance.'

I'm still on the Equifax free trial period & the account is green with no negative factors. So, I guess that's what's important. The only red or negative factor was the notice of correction which was swiftly removed when requested.

I guess it's now time to start rebuilding my credit score.

Correct, they just see that you have an account with someone. Unless the account belongs to them, they will not see who the account is with.

Usually that statement accompanies a default entry. It's removed 6 years from the default date.

I found 2 entries, one for the account which showed all green, and marked as Settled. No statement on this. In fact some still remained giving a positive effect on my credit file at the end as it showed a positive history :-)

Then a second entry for the default, which then showed as Partially Satisfied with the statement as you say "Payment received as a full and final settlement although the payment would not fully clear the balance." or similar wording, cannot remember, against the default entry.

An account that is not shown in default, will remain on file for 6 years from the settlement date, so something to be concerned about if it's shown on a settled account and not the default entry.

It is definitely a settled account. No mention of default. The only boxes which contain info are start date (thirteen year ago), date satisfied & update date. There is only payment history showing for 2012, under the month it was paid there is a green s.
