I made an offer to Freeman Jones on the 10th April, in full and final settlement to finish my IVA. I was told that a variation report would be drafted and sent to me for signing....I am still waiting for this and Freeman Jones cannot tell me how long this will take!!

Totally frustrated with Freeman Jones and this process, I am now 2 months and waiting...PLEASE can someone tell me how long I can expect to wait as Freeman Jones just keep telling me this is a lengthy process but can't even give me a realistic date to work towards!

Hi there and welcome to the forum

This can vary from case to case and firm to firm, but I would say no longer than 2-3 months and in some firms we see this done a ot earlier.

I don't feel the timescale you have mentioned is that bad, but I would contact your IP directly and ask them to give you a firm expectation.

Many thanks for the reply Melanie, you have given me more information in a paragraph than Freeman Jones have given me in 2 months! I was even laughed at by them last week when I enquired if 'this would take 6 months?' and their response was 'I hardly think so'....not very helpful.

They have told me that they cannot get a timescale from the IP as this process is 'now out of their control'. Again not very helpful but at least I now have some direction of how long this could take.

I would welcome any contact from a Freeman Jones Representative to explain why I have had to reach out to a forum to get an answer and why my Relationship Manager is unable to support me at this very difficult time.

Contact Sarah Jolly whose details you will find in the experts section. She works for FJ and does seem to have helped a number of their clients.

Hi Taxi-Dancer,

I am with Freeman Jones as well and i also put forward a full and final settlement offer at the end of April and still not received the draft proposal. I was advised by my relationship manager that it can take up to 3 months to get the draft proposal and i only recently received my annual report nearly 2 months after my annual review. I guess they have a backlog to get through.

I did put forward a previous full and final in September last year and i received the draft proposal within about 6 weeks back then. On the whole i have to say Freeman Jones have been really good, but it does depend on your relationship manager. This is coming from someone starting my 4th year in an IVA.

I think if you haven't heard anymore in the next few weeks i would give them a call again.

Best of luck with your offer.

Good luck with the variation. I am sure that Sarah will be able to help you find a more definitive timescale to work to.

Hi Taxi-Dancer,

I'm concerned to read your comments on your current experience with Freeman Jones. Clearly there has been insufficient communication and for that I apologise.

To be able to offer a clear update regarding your IVA I'd need to look your case. Please can you email me your reference number to Steve.Hewitt@Freemanjones.com.

I hope we can resolve this matter swiftly for you and look forward to gearing from you.

Thank you
Steven Hewitt - a member of the team at Freeman Jones

Hi nlarkin, thank you for your post, it's good to hear from someone also waiting for their draft report.
