Hi there, another tale of a completion dragging on... I completed my payments to DFD in March (hooray!), but it cannot be completed until PPI is sorted out. DFD told me that their completion signings-off are currently about 6 months after final payment anyway.
I sent the second lot of paperwork to EIF a year ago, after they lost the first ones. Even though I told DFD that I had never taken out PPI, they insisted that I send the forms to EIF. EIF tell me that they have still not heard from 3 of the 5 creditors and it will take up to 8 weeks for them to check whether there was PPI. They've had my paperwork for a year now, so why haven't they chased it up sooner? EIF said that they can sign it off if I have any paperwork from creditors saying that I did not have PPI, but I've never heard of such a thing!
To me this is unacceptable but I am getting short shrift from both DFD and EIF - any suggestions?
Also, the IVA will show up on my credit record for a further year, but is this from the date that the payments ended or from the date of the completion certificate?
Any help would be gratefully received!

Hi

This PPI business is so frustrating for many.

My understanding is that it will come off your credit file six years after it started, regardless of the fact that you have not received your completion certificate, however you will still be on the online insolvency register

hi Jackiec

the 6 year anniversary of my IVA was 9th July 2012

I recieved my certificate 1st November 2012, with the IVA still showing on my credit file at all 3 CRAs until varying times between Nov 12 & Jan 13

hope this gives you some idea of timelines
Last payment made April 2012
Certificate received 1st Nov 2012

This does unfortunately seem to be taking an awfully long time to resolve for you.

If the IVA is extended to 72 months, it still drops of the CRA records at that time.

I don't think it's the PPI so much but the timing of when the pursuit of it starts as well as the inept companies that some IP's make you go with, that's the frustrating part of it Andy.
Om shanti, namesté, good luck to all who are embarking on the IVA journey, it isn't always an easy one but the outcome is the best.

IVA COMPLETED August 2012, received Completion certificate 18.4.13.

Just give up its a lot easier. I am at 9 months past completing. What they don't seem to care cab out is for 5 years you are on edge the whole time and just want the thing to end. Then coz they are useless you get to be told to call them and chase after them
Whoever chooses these. PPI companies musdt know was sup so they are just as bad. For continuing to use them
I say I say the people finish should be a priority not new customers. Get the old files off your books then u have more time to deal with new ones
It occurs that the ones who have finished get the PPI hold ups as they have the oldest paperwork to chase up
I started this up 3 years cargo. I have a email that shows it. I called said can I claim. I was told yes but wait til the end. So this has been going on that long
