Great news Dawn, well done and hopefully you will have that all important piece of paper in your hand very soon. I think there is a very large whip being cracked over in Adlington at the moment and rightly so too.

Keep us posted. x
Om shanti, namesté, good luck to all who are embarking on the IVA journey, it isn't always an easy one but the outcome is the best.

hi david 16 just to give you some info that i was not aware of regarding loans no matter where you are with your loan from a bank etc they do add on all the interest up front and even when you enter a iva this still forms part of the debt so it seems that hsbc will have had theloan amount of £16,750 and £11,000 so if you have had a loan and its part of your iva well they get it all i wish this had been explained at tne start in2006 but well you learn i hope others get this info and can everyone be aware the banks destroty your paperwork afrte six but in my case it was just after five keep photo copies the only good thing is that things are moving

Why does it tame 3/5 weeks from an IP agreeing to close a case to actually doing this? What actually happens during that timescale, and why such a long delay?

Maybe that's a question that needs to be asked directly Melanie.

Well done, Dawn :-)

Yes, you would expect, after all the years of trials and tribulations, that it would be at least a certificate type document. But -- hey -- as long as it means what it says on the tin :-)
My opinions are merely that .. opinions based on experience. Always seek professional advice.

hi david with eif ring them and find out what is going on i found that you get more info that way and that you know exactly what dfd have been told and when this normally gets things moving a bit quicker. ive learnt keep pestering and you do get dealt with quicker i think dfd are fed up with me and thats why they stuck to the timecsale of 3/5 weeks well just under three for me , dont be to disappointed by the cc its just a letter and statement of affairs i was expcecting something much more official but i think now who cares i think ill frame it , i know one thing for certain i will never have a credit card and if i can help it no loan either in the future [:)] let me know how you get on [:)][:)][:)][:)][:)][:)][:)][:)]

hello people been a while and yes i am still waiting for my completion certificate 1 year and 8 months since i made my last payment its a joke anyone out there thinking of taking an iva out i would strongly recommend against going with debt free direct they are a joke i came on this forum to try and get closure and still nothing they use a ppi claims company called equity in finance and they are just as bad i had one of my creditors phone me up asking if i was mis sold payment protection why are they phoning me for i phoned eif and they have said another 4 to 6 weeks its a complete joke i would have been better off going bankrupt as its been 7 1/2 years and i still have'nt become debt free anyone out there thinking of going down this route think carefully about which company you choose as i say i would not recommend debt free direct it sounds good at the beginning but personally i am still waiting for an end any advice if any would be gratefully received

It's not just DFD, we are still waiting for our cc. The IVA company blame the claim company who blame the credit company. Hey Ho it's just our lives they're messing with.
Life after IVA is wonderful.

Just thought that I would add, it is exactly 1 year and 5 months since we paid our last payment and still no Certificate.

We are with GT, have yet another meeting in 2 weeks for creditors to agree to us being issued with our Certificate whilst further PPI is being claimed??.

This is despite a meeting in June 2012 (accepted) to deal with the VAT issue followed by a F@F in December 2012 (accepted with PPI) to close file. Certificate was to follow in 6 months.

That elated feeling following that last payment (March 2012) has been totally overshadowed by the wait for the Certificate with one excuse after another.

The worse thing is knowing that the IVA is still open until that time despite payments being met.

The last 2 years have been much worse than the first 5 when we were struggling with monthly payments...surely it is not supposed to feel like this at the end when you have done your best in the beginning and met all your obligations.
