Hi

You are in a very long queue I'm afraid and it is simply not acceptable that you or anyone has to wait so long
What company are you with

You need to speak directly to your IP and it may be possible to sign a deed of assignment allowing the IVA to close. Your wait is too long.

Which firm are you with David, and what reasons have they given you for the delayed completion?

hello many thanks for the replies the company i went with was debt free direct i would never recommend this company to anyone i have emailed them about my completion certificate and they replied saying they could not close my iva until my ppi claim had been resolved they said i would be debt free in five years(yeah right) my circumstances changed half way through my iva as i had to move out of my current home and live on my own so my outgoings went up quite considerably i explained this to them and they were saying i was in breach of my iva they suggested that i pay an extra year on my iva which i agreed to do then when i completed it in jan 2012 they sent me paperwork in feb 2012 saying they wanted to claim back ppi i emailed them saying my iva had finished but they replied saying they sent my case to a ppi claims company in nov 2011 i did not receive the paperwork from this company until i say in feb 2012 i signed it in april this year to try and get my certificate i have told them i was not happy with this but they don't want to know really just interested in getting as much money as they can its 7 1/2 years later and i am still not debt free is it right that they waited until my iva had completed until they thought they could claim back my ppi why have'nt they done it when i was in my iva

hi david 16 you are not alone im with dfd and my last iva payement was dec2011 and ive been through the dreaded ppi claims and ive also had problems with a creidtoirs claims etc dfd are not good at geting back to you and the wait on the phone for them to answer your calls are not on especially when we are paying exhorbitant rates to talk the them as its an 0844 number and you only get as far as customer services and cannot even talk to the relevat dept to answer your questions have you experienced this as well ive been told when ive asked when will they close my iva and well its we cant tell you a date it will be at least 6/8 weeks thats the answer each time check your statement as well as i beleive they are still taking monthly fees so less going to the creiditor and as you know they continually tell you that this is the aim to give you an example at the moment ive paid into my iva £21,000 plus another £12,500 in ppi total approx £33,000 my debt they say was £27,000 and at the moment it seems that with fees etc only £19,000 will get to the creditors i thought fees finshed when the time was up can you tell me if you have the same sorry ive been to wordy but its nice to know im not the only one waiting this long

Hi David, you have my sympathies in relation to this, very frustrating to say the least.

Dawn is that correct that they charge by the month? If it is then that does put a very different slant on things as it isn't in their interests to close anytime soon! I'm all for paying for a job well done etc but not when things are being drawn out over a longer period to gain from it!
Om shanti, namesté, good luck to all who are embarking on the IVA journey, it isn't always an easy one but the outcome is the best.

IVA COMPLETED August 2012, received Completion certificate 18.4.13.

Theyve recruited a new boss whose name escapes me ( an old colleague of mels ) and she certainly seems hot on customer service and particularly rescuing cases awaiting clsoure that appear to have stalled, so im sure you will now find the power of the forum will come to your assistance within the next 48hrs, if not sooner

hi orchid
from my last statement there has been quite a lot added i know they get money from the ppi as a fee but there seems to be a lot more which is not explained i have asked dfd and they have not given me an answer to the fees other than my iva is still open so therefore i see this as they are taking the fees monthly which if im not sure are around £75 a month but someone please correct me if im wrong i now just want closure its a pity the creditors didnt take more of a proactive approach when the iva nears its end as dfd constanly tell you the creditrs are enetiled to a high divend but if its eaten into by unesscary fees its money wasted as in my case around a third in fees since 2007 and 2 big lumps were the nomiees fees of £2,500 AND £5,500 supervisor fees plus vat disbursments and £1,900cost of arrangement and that was up to july 2012 i to my knowledge have not had any other info from dfd such as in a statement for this year as to what is availble to distribute to the creiditors which would include the ppi but getting info outn of dfd is hard ive found once you stop payments ie when your 5 yeears are complete

hi dawn glad i am not the only one whose had problems with dfd as you say they are a nightmare to try and phone i've given up trying and have gone down the email route but that is no better i did'nt realise they take a monthly charge i have found a receipt & payment account and i paid £18500 into my iva and looking at the receipts they have taken £2500 nominees fee and £6600 supervisor fee plus office holders expenses another £500 and cost of arrangement another £250 i thought i was doing the right thing by getting an iva instead of going bankrupt but my creditors will be lucky to get a £100 the way its going like you say when you complete your iva they seem very good at dragging there heels i will keep battling on thanks for the reply and advice

This is what happens to the customers who complete their IVA they are then treated as dirt and not given any further updates
WHY should we have to chase them up Who is responsible This is a serious matter involvong money and legalities and should be treated as such not as a few missed items off your shopping list
Sure there are good people trying But when you complete your IVA you should be dealt with as a High priority and not pushed aside as you are of no further use PPI is 2 or 3 years old now and should not have a bearing on your IVA it should have been sorted out so that the people who finish can then move on I am now past caring just that its annoying 8 months and still not heard a single sausage from my IVA company WHY should I chase them up why should I do the worrying and stress for them

All I got told was 6 to 8 weeks PPI say the same thing 8 weeks = 2 months !!!!!!!!!!! not 6 to 8 months

Look into it. Ii will get back to you. == Means fobbed off forget emails. Write a letter and a date for them to respond. If you don't get it take it up with somebody who can do
People are just letting themselves get walked over and scared to do or say anything. That they know they have you over a barrel. If you make a fuss they will make trouble for you dig into your file for a glitch or just throw your file to the back You finished your side be glad its over and forget the CD move on your not going to get credit again for a few years. Nobody is going to check up on you so let them do what they want don't waste your time :-)
