Hi Sarah. Your son's DLA will be taken into account as part of your income. However, this is provided for his benefit and you will need to offset this on the expenditure side of the equation to, effectively, cancel it out.

Hi my daugthers DLA was for her however I never offset it on expenditure therefore lost out massively, so ensure you do it eventually went to her wothin own rights when she reached 16 and we got a variation but for a few year lost outx

Where someone is in receipt of DLA we would include it as income and off set in expenditure as additional costs relating to the disabilty.

Have you included these additional costs in your expenses?
