I completed my IVA at the end of August 2011 and despite numerous calls and emails to Grant Thornton I still have no idea of when I'll get my completion certificate,

I have asked on numerous occasions for an update but haven't even had a single call back, email or letter!

I'm pretty much at my wits end with them and don't know what to do to get them to acknowledge my enquiries.

I thought I'd be rebuilding my credit rating by now, not stuck in the quagmire of being bumped from department to department with the last one being "send our special team an email as they don't have phones"!! I sent this phone less dept an email 4 weeks ago and still have heard nothing!

Bet I'd have heard quickly enough had I missed a payment during the 5 year IVA!

Advise on what to do now please!

Thanks

ivacustomerservices@uk.gt.com

Hi there welcome to the forum. Try emailing the above address and put IVA FORUM in the subject line.

Hopefully that way someone will deal with the above and be able to update you as to your certificate of compliance.
IVA final payment left the bank on the 26th January 2013...looking forward to a debt free future.

I had the same problem as you MsGirliezee. I completed by IVA in April 2011 and have spent the last year trying to get a completion certificate, although it was not the same company as yours. May was the 6th anniversary and hoping to repair by credit and still no sight of a certificate! Everytime I rang the company they kept saying it would be 2-3 weeks and was delayed due to the VAT refunds! Anyway I contacted DEMSA and asked for their help! Only 4 days after they contacted my debt company I received my completion certificate! It was certainly worth it! Good luck and hope you get it resolved soon as I know exactly what you are going through!

If you use the closures email address above it will go direct to the correct team. If you don't have a reply within a few days I would contact Karol - address on her profile to chase up.

Hi! GT do seem to be speeding up on the closures recently. If you put IVA FORUM in either of the two email addresses for GT, you may get a quicker response. Karol is great so I hope she picks up on this thread x

Hi, I have used the email address - iva.closures@uk.gt.com and had a response in less than an hour on both ocassions so would recommend that as your first port of call.

My last payment was April 2011 and still no completion yet so you are not alone.
IVA Official Completed 27th July 2012!!!

seems like a ridiculous situation to be in and I still wonder what would happen if someone won the lottery while waiting on being discharged,or as is more likely received a windfall due to the death of a relative!!!!

Paul
Discharged today the 8th feb 2012. View is much brighter now.
Continuing to rebuild our credit worthiness.

Hi! I'm sorry but this is disgraceful! How are these companies getting away with it? If we didn't pay for a year we wud be facing BR by nw! They promise that the completion certificates will take up to 12 weeks not 12 months!! Perhaps we ought to name and shame all of the companies who are nt complying and hopefully it will put people off going with those particular ones! I do not see hw they can prevent us trying to credit build when we have kept to our side of the agreement!! Is our monies sitting in their accounts accumulating interest prior to disbursement 12 months later??? :(

There seem to be two threads operating about this at the moment - and I've answered on the other one. But just to confirm contact Karol at the address on her profile and she is sure to want to look into this for you.

I don't necessarily think it is the case Franky that companies are not complying - some have taken the decision not to close cases until their Paymex VAT refunds have been received - and this is with the advice of our regulators. Some of us have found a sensible way around this, but other firms seem to be sticking to the advice provided. Trust me it is tedious for all of us!

Hi Melanie,

How can it be possible that since my last payment back in feb 2012 still no closure and the excuse is the PPI?
