The first MVM will be happening some time soon ish (will try and get more precise details when I call GT) but I won't be included in it as despite sending back my agreement to the changes in February GT didn't get it. I presume there will be more of them to follow.

If a person even has PPI it does not conclude that it was mis-sold! Looking at some IVA Companies stance it seems they are treading a fine line with the FSA I would imagine....after all it seems they are clearly aiming at all clients with PPI and enforcing claiming as the norm.....whether the client thinks it was mis-sold or not!
In your position theHuge I'd start getting more pro-active from a left field direction.
My IVA Company simply asked me if I had any PPI claims and I stated "No".....which I havn't and even if I did, if I wasnt mis-sold them then I wouldn't claim. Maybe I would be a fool but I'd be an honest one:)
I came into this world with nothing and still have most of it left!
Spoke to someone at GT who said they weren't sure when the first MVM would be put possibly around the end of May. She also said I wouldn't get any notice of the meeting - I would get a letter after the meeting to say what happened. There will be more MVM but they don't know when.
Am hoping my case will get included in the first MVM but not holding my breath!

Soooo... after another email asking what's going on, got the same evasive reply (from closure team). Spoke with IPA, but they advised me to follow GT's complaint procedure, to 'allow them opportunity' to resolve/explain their actions. A second letter (there is a 3 tier complaints system) is now with them, they have 4 weeks to reply....

I am sure they will get back to you within the timeframe set within their own complaints procedure, and I'm not suprised to see the IPA advising you to follow that process in the first instance.
Another month....(well almost).. still no reply from my second complaint letter (yet), 4 days to go.. So I rang and kindly asked the customer rep to email Paul Madden and remind him of the impending deadline. I was told that, even though I have no outstanding PPI claim (this has been confirmed by EIC, as they have closed the case on myself and my wife), (and I have signed a declaration that even though I have no claim, I will in the future never try and claim again) my IVA can not proceed as they have to wait for the Mass variation meeting (happening sometime next month) to change my T.C's to included PPI which I don't have and never did!!??!!

It is such a shame that this is taking so long to resolve for you. What reason have GT given you for needing to include your case in the mass variation exercise?
It appears we are all being told very different things. I rang GT last Friday to see how my case was going and they stated that EIC have not dealt with any of the PPI claims due to changes with how the banks/finance companies deal with us trying to claim PPI from them. I also have no PPI claim but this doesnt seem to matter. EIC called me about 3 weeks ago to go through some questionnaires, I only had PPI on one thing which I claimed on as I was off sick for a few months many years ago. When she asked me about it she tried to coerce me in to saying I had been pushed in to taking the PPI, I had not and ended up telling her to stop questioning me as I had clearly stated I asked for the PPI and claimed on it. I have complained about this but EIC are a terrible company.
GT told me that no CC's have left the office since December and that none will until after the meetings. She said that mine is included in a creditors meeting on the 23rd so they should have more answers then. When I pushed for more details she said she had none and that they have been having team meetings at which all the staff have asked for more details and been given none.
I tried to get a rough idea when they hope to start issuing certs again and she could not answer. I told her I am 4 months pregnant and want an end to this now so that I can make decisions about my job before the babys born, and all she could say was that hopefully before my baby arrives we should have some answers. They appear to have no idea what is going on.
What bothers me allot is that from what I have read, the longer our cases are open the more GT can claim in costs for running them. It is now 9 months since my last payment and that is a long time for them to be claiming costs on doing nothinng!
What bothers me is that GT will still hold you to the terms of the IVA regarding windfalls, etc. If I won £150 million I wouldn't mind, but if I won, say, £50k it would be wiped out. I know the intention is to pay back what you can -- but it is the principal of being bound into an agreement that has already ended, having complied religiously, through no fault of your own and, largely, due to gross mismanagement.
My opinions are merely that .. opinions based on experience. Always seek professional advice.
IVA Completed 23rd July 2013 .... C.C. 10th January 2014
If people have had them recently it just proves what I said, nobody at GT seem to know anything. The women I spoke to Friday said none had been sent since December. Also GT trying to claim windfalls after final payment was exactly why I started this thread. I was offered severance pay at work which I had to decline as after they deducted what they wanted I would have had about £2,000 left.
OK, I have (wow!) received a email back from my enquiry only sent at lunch time... Apparently, even though I have no PPI, there is an issue with VAT refunds, and have to wait for the MVM which are happening at the end of May and June. Personally, I thought the VAT issue was sorted last year??? perhaps Melanie you may have knowledge of this, as it effected all IP's. My IVA can not be closed until it has gone through the MVM.

I cannot comment on why GT still have outstanding VAT issues which they are seeking to include into their mass variations. For my own part, I resolved all VAT reallocations some months ago and had no issues which I felt needed directions from creditors, but you cannot compare one firm's practices against anothers as the PAYMEX issue provided many complications for IPs which were unique to the firms concerned.
So here we are, and another month, and still no sigh of any CC. I have been sent a reply from my second complaint letter, not really addressing the issues I asked for, but stating quite clearly, that the 'second' Mass variation meeting was happening in June, and after that meeting, some 21 day later (as they have to wait by law 21 days) a CC can be issued. So I rang today and asked when the meeting was actually taking place. Surprise, surprise, no second meeting has been sorted out yet. And if it does, it will be at least 6-8 weeks form now. Here though is actual proof of their lying, as apposed to the usually 'economical with the truth' statements that they come out with. So now I guess a stage three letter (followed by a 30 day wait) will be in order to get any semi-truthful answers from them. One point that was very interesting, in my second reply, the supervisor ( Mark Allen ) actually gave me the option to have case dealt with on an Individual level, and not as a 'mass'!! WOW, I thought, an IVA that is actually an IVA, now there's an idea! If only this option was available to me before, perhaps I would have got my CC some 12months ago!! GT's new policy must be to make all IVA's into MVA's....
On a lighter note I have just received from Grant Thornton my annual expenditure review...
