I have today had a response from my MP who is in receipt of a reply to my having complained to her about EIF, they have sent me a copy of this response which quite frankly although appears to be in favour towards the creditors and clients, is utter tosh.

As a result of what has been put in the letter re off-set debts i've been asked if my letter can be forwarded onto Ian Murray MP shadow minister for Business, i've replied yes. I don't want anyone else to go through what i and my partner have had to endure these last 8 months and if by doing this goes someway to helping that stop and the sooner it is investigated and clear legislation given, the better!

Keep us updated orchid, maybe someone somewhere has common sense and can see the stress you have been put under and actually makes a statement.

Thanks Merlin, i'm now sorted and have what i've been after for the last 8 months and thats the completion certificate, my IVA journey is now at an end, however if i can help prevent this happening to anyone else then i'm all for it. Good luck with your journey, hopefully all this fiasco will be in the dim and distant past when you complete.

Yea, hopefully. I have 20 months left which is less than some people have been waiting for their CC. I started out this journey full of confidence, this has waned significantly seeing the fiasco with PPI, VAT and God knows what in the future. Maybe IP's will have had their shirt tails burned by their governing bodies by then!

EIF are an utter disgrace, that is all I feel I need to say without resorting to expletives.

You wouldn't think so from the tosh they put in the letter to my MP, stating they along with two other major claims firms who also specialise in this matter had come up with a strategy to allow IVA's to close whilst PPI claims are in progress, forgive me but i thought that was down to the hard work of the insolvancy practitioners.

Dear Orchid5, so pleased your IVA journey has finally come to an end. Thanks for the updates which I have been reading regularly with interest.

In May I pay my final payment to DFD. I have to pay a one-off arrears payment in June but after scrimping and saving over the last couple of years we will be able to send it with May's payment(caused by not understanding overtime payback - in my case it is 50/50 but we did the 10% and 50/50 so this caused the arrears).

I am so excited but at the same time have some anxiety about how long it is going to take to get the CC from DFD. I won't be holding my breath but who knows I may have some positive feedback for DFD.

Hi Mrs T, hopefully if you don't have any PPI etc then there won't be a problem with closure, i wish you good luck and hopefully you won't have to wait too long for that all important certificate. xx

we sent our documentation back in july/aug last year and its still an ongoing process ! Despite knowing that we have never had ppi, payplan have insisted we go down this route and we now find ourselves constantly and repeatedly filling in forms for EIF 9 months on! Its a complete joke !

Sadly that doesn't surprise me Struzzo, i would write to them stating that you are going to put in a complaint,i would go through their own complaints procedure, mind the way they deal with business that is actually bringing in money is probably giving a clue as to how they deal with complaints. Their regulators are the Ministry of Justice, whom i'm already of the understanding are looking into this shambolic company. I would also make your IP aware of the difficulties that you are experiencing.

Have you been given a case worker? If so i would definately email them directly outlining you are not happy with the service they are offering etc.

Good luck and best wishes.

I would suggest that your MP also copies in Jo Swinson MP. She is the LibDem Minister for Consumer Affairs, and is taking a keen interest in the workings of the debt management industry right now.

I'm more than happy for the letter to go wherever it is necessary if it helps, as yet i haven't received my hard copy of my completion certificate although have received a copy of it via email last week, even sending it second class it should've arrived.
