Hi Guys
I wanted to know with the new pension legislation meaning everyone who is employed is entered into a pension scheme by there employer - where do we in an IVA stand?
I asked someone in my ips office yesterday and they said i had to opt out as i wasnt allowed a pension while in an IVA - i think there is something on my proposal that says i can make minimum payments but will have to check - my company scheme is very generous at present but if i dont enrol before august i stand to lose massive employer contributions.
Any advice appreciated as usual[:)]
Not allowed a pension? I would question this as I was allowed to maintain my pension during my IVA (mind I'm getting no younger). One of your experts will I'm sure be along soon to give you some advice.
IVA final payment left the bank on the 26th January 2013...looking forward to a debt free future.
thanks Lesley - thats what i thought - i am nearly sure it sayd in my proposal( which i dont have to hand at the minute) that i can make minimum payments - but surely this would effect my employer making their contributions?
Which firm are you with newbeginnings - it most certainly is not the case that you cannot have a pension whilst you are in an IVA, but you will need to consider how this will impact upon your ability to fund your IVA contributions, and whether these will need to be adjusted.
We were allowed to retain ours albeit had to reduce the monthly payment to be more inline with the IVA.....we have since put it back up and doubled it having cleared the IVA....i would certainly ask this question again.
