Whats happening with your IVA? Is there no way around it failing?

Hi Tamzin. Your counter says you have just started -- how far into your IVA are you and what are the problems ?

Buying title for £1 in BR is largely a thing of the past these days, so do take advice before doing anything drastic.

Hi i posted earlier this morning regarding my f &f offer . My parents had offered to help with an offer but it looks like it may have been refused(although on the day i had an e-mail to say it had been approved, but paperwork arrived and says different) the creditor are asking for voluntary payments of £80 a month and the iva to be extended to 72 months. I cant afford the £80 so looks like the iva will fail, which i am upset about as done 43 months. As i have no equity in my house i was thinking bankruptcy may be the best option now. Would GT deal with my bankruptcy, i know i would have to pay for the service but mum and dad would help with that if not paying out for F&F. Just loads of stuff going through my head after a sleepless night

Before you do anything drop an email to Karol at IVACustomerServices@uk.gt.com putting only "IVA FORUM" in the subject line. She will be able to look into this and explain what exactly is happening, as well as answer your BR questions.

If GT cannot assist I believe Payplan has a BR assist department that might be able to help.

It would be a great shame to allow the IVA to fail at this stage and I feel GT should, maybe, be more supportive.

thank you Foggy, i will do that. I must say that GT have in the past been very good and got me safely through a previous variation when i lost my job. I just can't for the life of me figure out why they would tell me all was approved and then send me paperwork to sign saying i would make voluntary contributions, whats voluntary about them if you have no choice

One does wonder how mistakes like this can happen, but I guess they do even in the best of firms occasionally. All is well that ends well I guess, and great news to hear that you can shortly put this all behind you tamzin.
