Dear All
I received my completion certificate in August of 2012. I was sent forms from EIF re ppi claims just before my FF proposal was accepted. I spoke to my IP about this saying that I had never taken out such insurance and sent a letter confirming this as requested by them. They said that they would not take this any further. However, I am again now receiving phones calls and paperwork from EIF. As I now have my completion certficate can they again start requesting me to complete these forms?
Any advice would be welcome, many thanks as always

Hi
If you have your competion certificate and are off the Insolvency Register then I don't think you are duty bound to co-operate if you don't want to

Rich, the very the exact same thing is happening to me as of a few weeks ago after receiving CoC in Aug 2012 ( timing is the same too!) and I was very much encouraged to comply - being told several times that the IP is perfectly within their rights to chase the PPI claims after CoC has been received - which I accept. However the question I keep asking and have never seen a definitive response to (maybe this is another 'grey' area and there currently isn't one), is what is my legal obligation here. I think if it was the case that I was legally required to comply, then there wouldn't be mass variations to T&Cs happening to those awaiting closure certificates.
Andy, you are the first person 'in the know' who has said that as far as you know, there is no duty to co-operate. Is there a legal precedent for this or is it all up in the air like the rest of the PPI recovery process?

Not sure if this will help but worth a try! After several phonecalls to my IP and several battles to get a resolution, they agreed to arrange for my details to be taken off the EIF (or such similar companies) database so that we would no longer receive any correspondence from them!
Good luck!

That's very interesting rbc, that is not my experience - I've been roundly ignored, despite several emails direct to Karol at GT (she's dealt with my case before and I have to say has always been exceptional). However, disappointingly I've not received a single response this time and the calls kept coming. I've got EIC on the blocked list now though so it isn't really a problem.
Debtanator - given what rbc has just said, I think I shall be doing exactly that!

It may sound as though I am stating the obvious - it really isn't intended that way - but have those in receipt of a CC checked if they are still showing on the IVA Live Register??
I am under the impression it takes some time to be removed from the register after you have received a CC. I would imagine in the time this takes, companies like EIC are still able to make contact with IP's clients, even though their IVA is closed.
I may be barking up the wrong tree here - but it may explain why people are STILL being contacted after receiving a CC. Your IP should be able to add more clarity on this.

I was off in September 2012. First time I checked. I checked again last week because I wondered the same thing but definitely gone!

Thanks for your comments,
I am also off the insolvency register. To be honest when EIF last rang me I told them to stop wasting my time, that I had completed my IVA and received my completion certificate. Then I get all the paperwork in the post that I have just thrown away rather than respond any further with them.

Thanks Karol, as I say, you have always been exceptional, so I assumed it had slipped through the net somehow. I suspect you have been overwhelmed judging by the amount of posts about this subject on this forum!
Although, it would be helpful if you could post here what the general stance is on this - Closed IVAS, issued certificates over 6 months ago, no contact from GT - then suddenly a barrage of calls from EIC stating they've been given my details by GT. Is this right?
Seems to be happening to a lot of people who are off the IR, with closed, certificate issued IVAs.
