Hi Sebs25 and welcome to the forum, very sound advice from all above, there are two companies i would avoid like the plague and if i was now considering embarking on an IVA and now being very informed i would opt for Melanie and her team, good luck with whomever you choose.
Om shanti, namesté, good luck to all who are embarking on the IVA journey, it isn't always an easy one but the outcome is the best.

IVA COMPLETED August 2012, received Completion certificate 18.4.13.

If I had had a choice and looking back now I definately would go with Melanie

I am classified as Self employed by HMRC and I am talking to other IP's as suggested by you all. I am a bit concerned that some forum members have been having problems with GT.

Hi Sebs. Most problems with GT are with closures. A few of us were transferred to GT from other firms and were a bit wary at first. But the service I have received so far has been great.

However, I would advise everyone starting out to chat to a few companies ( one man's meat is another man's poison, and all that). You have to find a company you are comfortable with for what is a 5 year, fairly financially intimate, relationship.

I think many of us, given the time again, would go with Mel on this journey.
My opinions are merely that .. opinions based on experience. Always seek professional advice.
IVA Completed 23rd July 2013 .... C.C. 10th January 2014

Hi Sebz, I have my own limited company and was "steered" towards GT by CCCS, I was not given the opportunity to discuss things with others and had not found this forum.
Personally, if I had my time again, I would chat with at least 3 IP's to understand what they have to offer support wise and how easy they are to get on with, as Foggy says its quite an intimate and personal journey for at least 5 years.

From what I have picked up from this fantastic forum, & my own personal experience of GT, I would say they appear to be very fair & professional at the start of the IVA. During & most definitely on closure - A WHOLE DIFFERENT BALL GAME!!!!!! Do lots & lots of research before you commit to GT! Good luck.

You should do lots of research before committing to an IVA with anyone!!

Lots of changes have happened throughout the industry, and given the 5 years or so that an IVA can last its understandable if any of these changes make an impact.
What has happened regarding GT seems to be an almost complete breakdown in giving a hoot what customers think by virtue of totally ignoring people awaiting discharge.

shop around,5 years is a long time to be stuck with any one company if you arent happy with them.

Discharged today the 8th feb 2012. View is much brighter now.
