Look forward to getting this letter .hope it gets here quicker than the PPI forms they rang about before Xmas and never arrived . I sincerely hope those of us waiting the longest are dealt with first .
As I have said before .. maybe --- just maybe -- those getting their certificates are doing so because their PPI claims have been resolved. This will be down to the speed of the claims company and to the speed and robustness of the banks responses.
My opinions are merely that .. opinions based on experience. Always seek professional advice.

Many months ago we received a letter from Barclays Bank to say we had never been misold PPI. This was a surprise as we had never ever signed any forms giving permission for a claim. When GT called before Xmas asking why we had not signed I asked them to send the paperwork and we would sign as they said it would hold up our closure. Nothing ever came and it is almost 22 months since our last payment I realise GT are getting really bad press on here but when people like us have been waiting for ever and still are expected to be under the rules of an iva read of people getting closure after a few weeks. Can you imagine how we feel
Geordie. My point exactly I have agreed to sign anything required to get my CC and no paperwork has ever turned up.
Yet I read on this forum of people who receive their certificates in double quick time. 8 weeks in one case. How can I resolve a PPI query when I have nothing to deal with. I'm here, I am willing to sign over the claim to anyone, even EIC who seem incompetent at best and yet nothing!
Yes a PPI claim may have been resolved but we are unable to do that.
Unfortunately those of who have been waiting longest are not being dealt with first. This is my main point of contention. If there's a queue I'll be in it as patient as the rest of them, but this is not the case.
Take a breath and a brown ale, ha ha, and delve into the previous posts and you'll see that several debtors are treated to quick CCs whereas the rest of us are grateful for even an email reply after 2 weeks!
I agree. I am so grateful to receive a monthly e mail even though they all say the same thing. I think I may pass on the brown ale though.... Horrible stuff.
It is a real shame that some of you poor folks - who seem to have had a really bad experience - can tar the image of a generally good and professional firm. I hope that these posts are picked up by the people concerned and acted upon where necessary.
I am happy to forward anyone's direct personal details to Karol directly if this would assist. Message me off line.
If GT choose to ignore people via e-mail, post etc How are we supposed to feel. I am sick to death of trying to get information out of them. It takes a minimum of 3 weeks to respond to an e-mail and the reply you get is utter trash and not what was asked for. There is no complaints procedure on GT's website and the e-mail for my IP no longer exists.
These are just a few reasons why GT get tarred so much.
GT latest figures e-mailed to me state I will pay 55% in fees of my original debts.
That is also paying back 100p/£

Thank you Mel, as always you are a diamond. I will endevour to do that and believe me like all on this forum we do greatly appreciate the help and advice you give on here.
It is no problem - and I can say from my own experience that Karol and her team, including her own direct line manager (upwards) will take these matters seriously.
They called me back a second time and apparently it is important to sign the paperwork as it allows the closure cert to be issued whilst PPI claims are ongoing. They are looking at a mass closure as soon as possible.
