Do you mean Civil Service ? (Predictive text strikes again!).

They don't like them, but we have many civil / public servants in IVA's which the Service know nothing about. Under terms of employment, which were written in the dark ages, you are supposed to inform them, but many don't.

Of course if you go for some of the higher security clearance roles, you will need to disclose it.
My opinions are merely that .. opinions based on experience. Always seek professional advice.

I'm in the civil service and have advised my HR department about my IVA and they have no problem with it at all. I also know of a colleague who went bankrupt whilst working with us and that wasn't a problem either. It may depend on which branch of the civil service you want to work with as many seem to work differently.

As a civil servant i informed my direct line manager, and there were no restrictions placed on me.

I dont believe as a Civil Servant that you are required to advise any one of an IVA. Bankruptcy I know of a colleague whom was moved from his department to work in another due to conflict of interests. It wont hamper any job you go for.

libertyfund I've been with the Civil Service for the last 10 years and it is my T&C's to inform HR if I am in one. It is probably best to check in your contract or do an anonymous call to the HR dept to find out

It's always advisable to check the terms and conditions of your employment (not that I ever did). If unsure an anonymous phone call to HR can often clarify things x

I assume that it must be disclosed when applying and may count against you getting the job in the 1st instance.

Once you are in post thats different.

Plasticdaft....civil service terms and conditions state you must inform at any time of your employment with the department .....not just at the outset.
I know of some roles in civil service departments that if you are declared bankrupt or enter a iva then you can no longer work in that field, such as finance officer in a local jobcentre....each department differs slightly but the principles are the same.
