can anyone tell me if it is normal to still recieve letters when iva has been accepted. i am extremely worried ,just recieved letter from a debt recovery agency saying they are going to sanction a doorstep visit to the property and to avoid this payment must be made in 72 hrs. help what do i do ? iva was accepted on 2/1/13 and ist payment has been made.[so stressed]
Please don't worry you are now in a IVA & are totally protected & your creditors are bound to the terms of the IVA. It takes a while for the information of your IVA to be processed through the systems of your creditors, either ignore the letter or forward it to your IP.
Congratulations on your IVA being accepted, you are on your way to becoming debt free, don't let this worry you x
Final IVA payment made in April 2013, never ever thought we could do it or get through it but we did! X

Hi legs. Pass the letter on to your IP who will have a word with them. The chances are that word just hasn't filtered down to the recovery section yet.
If, and this is unlikely, someone does turn up tell them to go away as the debt is covered by an IVA and further contact will be deemed to be harrassment.
My opinions are merely that .. opinions based on experience. Always seek professional advice.
IVA Completed 23rd July 2013 .... C.C. 10th January 2014
Hi Legs When i started my iva i was phoned and had letters from one recovery agency for weeks... easy thing to do is send a copy of your signed iva agreement to them ..no more contact
Wordings on these letters are very clever, sometimes you have to get over the shock, upset they cause which is exactly what they are trying to achieve to make you contact them and pay money.
For example.
'A representative will be contacting you at your property on x date'
First reading of this is that someone will be knocking on your door. Reality, they are going to call you on the phone.
In your example, they are going to sanction a visit. Is someone going to turn up, no they are not, re read, they are going to start a process to send someone, really, I don't think so, it's a threat with no substance. Without a court order they can do nothing.
The muppets at NCO Europe are even more funny if you ever get one of their demands.
If the visit is on a Monday you will get a card saying 'MR White will be calling' Tuesdays are a 'Mr Blue', Wednesdays is 'Mr Green' etc etc.
All I can say is they must be very busy guys turning up at 100s of houses all over the country on the same day.
They of course never turn up and the worst you get is a phone call.

Last Payment - November 2011 - Completion Certificate received 2 weeks after last payment, Removed from Insolvency Register within 4 weeks after last payment.
Ask them to turn up, but explain that you're having a toga party and in order to gain access to your property they must adhere by the strict dress rules and be wearing a white toga and nothing else.
They must also bring a bottle of Lambrini and a prawn ring from Iceland as their contribution.
If they are going to make ridiculous demands then you might as well too.
Hi Legs
Some good replies here, so I hope you can see that we have all had these at the beginning. The worst for me was Barclays, but then they are a disorganised rabble anyway. After numerous letters from me and IP an apology was received and a cheque for £75 in compensation for harassment.
If you feel like it write one letter stating that they are harassing you and you will place the case in the hands of the financial ombudsman for resolution. And don't forget to remind them that it is illegal to harass a debtor who is in IVA etc. And you might add that you are a distant relation to Legs Diamond, (perhaps not).
Above all don't worry or stress as, believe me, this is the only way we can have some fun. Incidently IP said I could keep the 75 quid so me and Mrs B went out on it.
Good luck and stay in touch with us, we'er a strange bunch but all in the same boat.
