I have had a 6.5 year battle with my IVA and its still ongoing.
I honestly think it would have been both financially and mentally easier to go bankrupt instead of setting up an IVA. I see no benefit at all of going for an IVA.

If i had to make that kind of decision i can whole heartily say i would defiantly not choose an IVA.

Sorry you had problems with your IVA. However it's important to remember that a lot of people have successful IVAs and there are also many other people who cannot go BR for various reasons.

Hi becca. Welcome to the forum. 15 months waiting to finish is appalling, and I can appreciate how you must feel. The more I read these kind of posts, the more thankful io am that my journey has been relatively short, and just waiting for my CC. I really hope you and so many others receive yours without further delay. x
IVA journey started: 30th March 2009. Settled: 17th July 2012. Completion Certificate received: 13th March 2013. Breathe. x

Hi Becca. I appredciate that you have had an uncomfortable journey, but I suspect much of it has been down to individual circumstance and, naturally, to the way your IP has assisted ( or not) in the process.

You feel it didn't work out for you, but for many thousands it does.

OK -- you had to jump through some awkward hoops( and still have a few ahead) --- but you got there ! After a bit more tidying up, you will be DEBT FREE. Think of that. The struggle will have got you to your goal :-)

No problem with PPI. Its down to Blair selling my IVA to GT. It has taken GT 20months to notice that blair had taken too much for their fees, so they cant pay my creditors until Blair give the money back! Still waiting on this. No time frame given.
Could take forever.

as for being debt free. It would have been cheaper and quicker for me to go bankrupt.

...it would be for many of us Becca. But .. spilt milk and all that ....

I think the BE mess that GT took on was a bit of a surprise to them when they opened the books and saw the extent of errors made! Added to this, it appears that the BE system is in no way compatible with theirs, making sorting it out doubly difficult.

Add to that little lot the impression I get is that they are under resourced for ongoing work, let alone sorting past messes, are lamentably bad at communication and not the fastest horse in the race anyway ... and you get this !!!

No help, I am afraid, Becca, but hang in there -- it WILL happen ( I have to believe that -- I am one of their's too!)

I can totally imagine your frustration becca and know for a fact I would be the same. You've made your contractual payments and now the delay through no fault of your own. Keep badgering them daily if necessary and tell them you want a timescale for this to come to an end.

I sincerely hope you get closure very soon. x
IVA final payment left the bank on the 26th January 2013...looking forward to a debt free future.

Are you being directly affected by the fact that your IVA has not yet closed Becca? If so, what is the issue and have you clearly explained this to your IP?
