Hi

Ive spoken to DFD today and they are resending the PPI pack out as they have advised it must be investigated before they issue the completetion certificate. They have advised that you can mark that there is no PPI claim to pursue and that will be that the completion certificate will be issued....watch this space

Hi Andy,

Honestly, I dont care anymore had enough of the whole thing, my point is that if you claim for mis sold PPI this is for PPI that you have been mis sold, I know that if I had PPI then I asked for it. I actually think PPI is a valuble tool and feel sorry for the companies who provide that insurance. If you had a illness wouldnt you like to know that your debts would be paid ?
You would indeed. However, there have been many instances where such insurance was asked for and sold, but not actually needed, as well as those where the insurance wouldn't have paid out anyway ---- were you asked about pre-existing medical conditions, for instance ?
Foggy, You also have to consider that there a great number of companies out there now taking advantage of a situation and putting in claim after claim whether you were sold the policy correctly or not as it is a lucrative gravy train. We get calls every other day from PPI chasers as they know we are in an IVA and make ludicrous claims that we are legally obliged to make claims, even though I made a claim myself and paid all the money into the IVA pot......

Nickjohn, you are, of course, correct. There are ambulance chasers for every pot at the end of the rainbow. As I said elsewhere on the forum the banks should have been forced to deal with this themselves and pay out direct without the need for a claim -- in the long run this would have been far cheaper for the banks, reduce the strain in the FOS and ensure more of the monies went where they should, as opposed to lining claims companies' pockets.

The simple fact that people are putting in fraudulent claims is not a defence to be used to prevent people pursuing genuine complaints, or, as is the thrust of this thread INVESTIGATING the PPI they might have taken out, as many policies actually asked for and wanted by the debtor will not pay out if needed. Mis SOLD is the wrong word .. more mis REPRESENTED.

You don't need to be in an IVA to be subjected to this continual peddling. I must get at least three calls or texts from claims management companies telling me the exact amounts I am able to claim - and I know that I have never, ever taken out PPI.

It's starting with deafness in the workplace again now. Just tonight I have had flyers from 3 different companies through my door offering me a free hearing test so I could claim. How times change. My poor Dad had really bad hearing after a long period of serving as a tank commander in the Army (before the days of them issuing headphones) - and tried to claim from the MOD about 30 years ago. Result - no chance!

Hi,

My husband and I are being chased for PPi claims (which we haven't made) on behalf of EIC and GT. Can't believe how many people are in exactly the same position as us both.
It's like a kick in the teeth - hobsons choice basically. We think we're going to say that we weren't mis-sold anything, because like you, we're not stupid and know exactly what we sign up to.
Just makes you want to scream - F and F accepted and paid, in the final stages of completion and still waitinhg for certificate - arrggghhhh!!!

If you know that you did not take out any PPI cossack, personally I would sign the forms allowing your IP and their claims management company to conclude their investigations. Delay on your part will ultimately lead to a delay in your case getting closed.
