Five years ago.I made the biggest decision to deal with my debts..I phoned up a Company called Clearstart and I didn't really know about what an IVA was but they thought I had a good case to pay a fixed amount each month to clear my debts.I really wanted to pay back something.
well it was accepted and the first payment was made.It wasn't easy to make that decision, the pitfulls, understanding what if it goes wrong, what if I lose my job???? etc slowly I was able to budget, being frugal, making one meal into two etc but a good skill for life.Sometimes I had money left at the end of the month, sometimes I ran out a week before payday.
Later Debt Free Direct took over the IVA from Clearstart. But both companies were good with their communication and responses..

But last week I was able to cancel my Standing Orders my last payment went through.

Now I'm able to start afresh.

I got help and support from friends and via the Online community including this forum,so for all those about to take the plunge best of luck,it will be hard but stick with it,could turn out to be the best decision you ever made.
Remember there are plenty of people on here to give you support and assurance.
Thank you all :)
Brian
