Well not long got back from Santander and I have been declined a new bank account. They tried all 3 and computer said 'no'.....gutted. The person whole dealt with me was really nice and I explained about my IVA and that I had completed it and that all my credit files are green. He said my Santander ccustomer status code was 'Good' which meant I stood a good chance but it still didn't get me through. He couldn't tell me why. Just rechecked Experian, Equifax and Call Credit still all fine and they don't show any searches??? Do they update searches straight away or over night? He did say something about Noodle but at that point i wasn't paying too much attention as I just wanted to get out of there. I can't register with Noodle (tried today and tried before) not even with my Vanquis Card which does show on my CRs. Any ideas? Also I thought has occurred to me. If santander use Noodle, Noodle gets updated monthly. Last month around 18th Dec I had a right kerfuffal with Equifax reposting a default back onto my account with Lloyds (post IVA date). By the 28 Dec I had an email to say they had taken it off after speaking with LLoyds. So I am wondering if the latest update Noodle have was the end of Dec (before 28 Dec) which showed this default. Frustrated but can't check as I can't register :/ Too scard to try Nationwide now. Might wait until next month incase these banks go to Noodle or similar agencies to get their credit check information...I am right in saying Noodle shows all 3 CRAs? Feel really low now but heyho I have been through alot worse.

Some banks keep records for a lot longer than the six years so that might be the reason.

Santander were not a creditor plus I was told that my status was 'Good' on their file.

Pre IVA I was only allowed a basic account at Nationwide, they refused point blank to upgrade it and I checked my credit rating and it was fine.
Went across the road to Barclays and 90 minutes later we had a full account with cheque book and credit card as we were top of their lending criteria.
They all work in different ways.

Barclaycard were a creditor so i think Barclays are a no no. Either the following has happened:
a) although not a creditor Santander know I was in an IVA and have set a flag although they said my status was good...guess it depends whether the IVA info is elsewhere.
b) It may be to do with an association with RSB Credit Cards (think they took them over) RSB Credit Card (MINT) were a creditor.
c) As my Credit files show no searches, if they went to someone like Noodle, Noodle data may have that erroneous default record that Equifax posted back on my account. It was on there for 10 days towards the end of Dec when they might have done their monthly updates
d) God knows - maybe I didn't score high enough, but I didn't even get a look in on their no frills current account and he even tried to upgrade my card to a debit card and it still said no which makes me think there is something recorded somewhere in Santander or Credit file data they checked. All I know is my 'live' Credit File data at the 3 CRAs as at today is clean, no defaults, no IVA, no NOCs
So b***** frustrating.................

I can imagine your frustration. You could always try a different bank, try online maybe as like others say they all have varying criteria. x
IVA final payment left the bank on the 26th January 2013...looking forward to a debt free future.

Hi Lesley, yes I will but not at the moment, just worried about these agencies like Noddle who provide information monthly as there might be a chance that they still have a default recorded which no longer exists. Check My File is another website. I did manage to get a login for that and thjey told me they get monthly updates on 27th of each month from the 3 agencies.

Hi ladybird 123
I suspect one of possibly 2nthings ( remember I'm not an expert , but have completed my 6 yrs iva journey like you )
1) Equifax default resurrection - I use noddle & my credit report only updates once a month , sonic this is the way noddle updates its data ice once a month , then this could be the problem
2) perhaps you have a creditor that was part of your iva ( as you say poss mint ) or even one you're competely unaware of , that is somehow linked to Santander , hence the refusal
I've just re read your post and can't really think of anything else to suggest
Perhaps one of the experts or a forum member that has epeienced the same thing may have a better idea
Last payment made April 2012
Certificate received 1st Nov 2012

Thanks 12 months. Just being doing some research. I think the big Banks etc do use what they call a Credit Reference Company (such as Noddle, Check My File), saves them going to 3 separate agencies. So if they are monthly feeds and they take it towards the end of the month then Equifax/LLoyds TSB let me down! They both blamed each other for it! The companies consoldate all the information from the 3 agencies then banks use this data to make their decision. I am so frustrated that I can't get into Noddle as it might give me clarification. I might email them shortly.
So on Noddle do you see all 3 credit report information? Does it say when it was updated?
My Creditors were LLoyds TSB, Barcaly Card, MBNA, Monument, Morgan Stanley, Mint (RSB), Capital One.
What also p's me off is I am looking to move house (renting). I was wanting to look this month but feel now I need to wait until next month as I don't want that erroneous default showing anywhere when they do a search..... bet letting agents also use one agency for referencing (cheaper).

Hi
Noddle are part of Callcredit so the fact that you have already checked your Callcredit file and it is clear you would think it would be the same for Noddle
I think it may be down to the default that went on and came off your file
I think the credit reference agencies are always evolving, probably in favour of the creditor rather than the debtor

Cheers Andy, I have emailed Noddle to help with my register as I just can't register. (I did notice the Call Credit name on their webiste. Need to look and see if the default is one there. The Santander guy either said Noddle is what they use or Noddle is another source of Credit referencing (maynot be that they use it). Although I want to I am scared to apply for a Nationwide flex account until maybe next monthly when these Credit Reference Companies have had their monthly updates.
