we are finally on our last 12 months of our IVA, due to the extra 12 months being added (remortgaging clause). It has been a struggle a lot of the time, but a lot to do with me not doing the allowances right at the beginning (only allowing petrol for work, and not anything else!) and also our daughter becoming a bit of a star at gymnastics so the costs of training had to be found somewhere, and my husband loosing his job a few times.

HOWEVER, we are almost there, I am more careful with money and won't ever get into this position again, but this time next year I will be looking through holiday brochures to book a lovely holiday in the sun for us and pay it all in proper money and not on the never never!

For all you people out there wondering whether to do it, can you do it, and what will people say - just do it, it is a struggle, it does cause arguments, and is upsetting - but you get over these things and you don't have to tell a soul - we haven't. But I do smugly say we don't have any credit cards!

Happy new year to all, anhd thanks for everyones support on my infrequent posts

Andrea

Andrea, a lovely honest post and with a gymnast star in the making I don't blame you for finding the fees for training! You must be very proud of her.

I agree with everything you say and I'm lucky enough to be making my last payment 28th January 2013 and I'm going to look at going away for hubby's 50th in November.

Hope the final year goes without problem for you, your daughter continues her gymnastics and you get to plan and go on the holiday you dream of. Happy New Year to you too. x
IVA final payment left the bank on the 26th January 2013...looking forward to a debt free future.

Thanks all, I can't believe the first 60 months has gone so quickly.

I still remember making the phone call, and every year I get worried at review time. Still we are here, still together, another little girl along the process and looking forward to the time when we will be able to get them bits without having to worry if we have enough. Luckily one just ones leotards (although they don't come cheap) and the other just wants pens and paper!

Good luck everyone,

x
