When we got letter from GT/EIF last year (2011) about PPI with a telephone number to ring if we did not need to claim, I rang them and stated the truth. that I had never had PPI and that hubby did have it but we had needed to claim on it when he had his heart attack. We have heard nothing since, but I am now wondering should I contact them and let them check it out while we still have 2 years to go so we dont get a nasty suprise at the end of our IVA.
What are peoples opinions and how would I go about contacting them as I am not even sure I have the letter from them now.

This is probably going to sound very weak of me Peejayel but that is exactly why I initiated an investigation
I dont think I was missold PPI but I simply do not want to give any justifiaction for a delay when my IVA ends next November
5 years will have been enough!!

Just hunted around and found the letter it was actually from Claimsbroker with a covering letter from GT. LOL shows how good my memory is,
I might giove them a ring and see what they can do at least that way they have just over 2 years to sort it out

I too had a letter from GT regarding ppi i phoned to let them know i did not take out any insurance and did not need EIC services however this week i had a letter from EIC stating i had a successful claim for unfair credit card charges please sign letter and send it on which i have done. Its seems EIC will check for ppi or unfair charges regardless of what you want...in hindsight i should have told them to check for everything after reading about delays with other peoples ivas regarding the ppi issue.
I did not realize they were checking for late payment charges just the ppi so it is worth phoning them to check

I would start the procedings now . I have 1 year remaining on. My iva and I approached my Iva company and they sent out the paper work to start claiming the poi . I have advised them that I have no ppi .
I just don't want anything to hold up my cc .

Do it now Peejayel,I also claimed on one of my PPI but was upheld so you never know, sadly though it is holding my closure so get it done sooner than later and hopefully now hold ups for you, good luck. x
Om shanti, namesté, good luck to all who are embarking on the IVA journey, it isn't always an easy one but the outcome is the best.

I'd do it sooner rather than later. We sent ours off to EIF as requested by payplan back in the summer and are still awaiting a response. Good luck

From first hand experience Struzzo i would give EIF a gently prompt they are not the most efficient company to be honest, good luck. x

I too don't feel I have ever been missold PPI however if they want to persue a claim then please do, as I want a hasty exit to my IVA when the time is right and not have it hanging over me x
IVA final payment left the bank on the 26th January 2013...looking forward to a debt free future.

Thanks everyone for your input, I agree that it is better to get it out of the way now so it can't hold up closure, I am with GT soi I have a long wait for closure when the time comes anyway without increasing it.
I was quite happy with calling them and not doing it at the start but I am getting incresingly concerned about the IP's now saying that they have to investigate even if you say it wasn't mis-sold. So I will let them find out I didn't have any and the hubby's was claimed on.
I will give the company a call on Monday and set the ball rolling.

Peejayel in the bigger picture don`t let PPI get in the way.
This PPI stuff is a real headache and someone is making money.
Hats off to PayPlan for sorting it out ahead of other companies. They may have their faults like any other but they were proactive on this issue and were the first to instigate a mass variation to sort the mess out.
