Basically what you have to think is when you complete the IVA you are technically finished and not a major concern Flip that to when you started out in debt you would be saying I am more important than somebody who has completed Yes its frustrating and annoying I am in the same boat

Secondly if you have even been to a leger PPI or Debt Managenent office you would not be surprised as to why you are waiting Just loads of apprentice kids and teenagers running about with head sets on
Customer Service I worked for the Govt and I used to deal with everything as it happened the waste of space managers in charge were useless and could not do the job they knew ir and so did everybody else
I used to do Hospital Discharge work Hospitals call in say they want work doing on a property and that had to be done in 24 hours
I used to outwork and came back to paperwork on my desk 24 I counted once and going back a week !
I got calls asking for officers to call back I pass the message back to them 1 threw it in the bin in a nasty manner another said tell them to F off !! another called was upset I passed the message the next day the manager said oh he is always calling moaning
The waste of space opposite me refused to take a call and he had given his name specifially and was reported to my boss for that
So
Guess who got a customer service award and who didnt :)

What you get told is just a copy and paste message Shortly is a polite term in due course at the earliest convenience etc

You are now LOW Priority and if I was in charge then you would still be low priority and so would I we are past the finish line

All you are doing is upsetting yourself and putting more stress on Just a natural reaction to have completed the rough journey to the end and you want it sorted the same as me

5 years ago the IVA was advertised on the back of newspapers Save
££££££££££££££Sssssssssss ......
Now its plastered all over because so many people are in debt so they are swamped with work factor in the PPI and VAT and all the usual admin office malarkey ie person on holiday team meetings = avoid doing any real work and so on

All I do is think well I have done what I said I would paperwork or not and move on not fair of course and they should be well prepared to deal with people at the end they have had 5 years Even if you say 6 months before you finish they should get the papers together and call you tell you what the closing process is ask you to get whatever and then its done A month at the most for the legal part after and its done.

So now factor in Xmas and New Year so add another month on at least
I am expecting my certificate to come wrapped around an easter egg !
look after yourself and dont get stressed about it you only wind yourself up

Thanks for your posting Icepop, sadly my frustration isn't just about the completion certificate it's also about the fact that i have got enough to wipe my slate clean so to speak and pay 100p in the pound with a very large sum of money left over that is potentially mine and the longer this goes on the longer DFD keep it! However today i have now decided to invoke a formal complaint as well as sending a copy of that complaint to their CEO Mr C Moat, i shall also recommend that he perhaps peruse through this forum and open his eyes, maybe that will make him think about how he can improve his company's customer service and then maybe worth the £314000 he earnt last year!

Icepop's posting may be representative of some firms - but this is definately not the norm in many others. Whilst I completely understand the frustration of many posters on this forum at present, the vast majority of IPs do a really good job and it is enormously frustrating to be reading all of these posts at the moment.

Not all Iva companies are bad but if people in the Iva or who are making these comments then there must be something wrong or there would not be so many negative posts
People are giving there view of the process so by the posts here then its not very good
Obviously a large company will have more negative complaints and smaller ones dont

I totally agree with you Melanie, it is a shame that likes of yourself and others on here who do care can get tarred with the same brush, in my eyes this is definately not the case. I have done as you suggested and written a rather long complaint to their complaints officer but to ensure that it doesn't get put on a shelf and not treated as a priority, i have also sent a copy of the complaint to the CEO of Fairpoint (both recorded delivery) and have suggested that he might peruse this site to see how many DFD customers are dissatisfied with the customer service they are receiving or not as the case may be and the amount of negative comments in relation to his company, i have said not all are negative but unfortunately the majority are. I wait with baited breath for the answers!

?
Confused by that
coz you are saying a majority of DFD people are complaining but you cant say that for sure I didnt say all IVA companies are bad if you read the post I was saying dont get too stressed by the run around you are getting as 1 customer as I wrote you and myself are not HIGH Priority hence the longer wait I cant see any of the '' wonderful '' compnaies turning a completion certificate out in a week so the same applies across the board So DFD are being tarred with a brush that doesnt apply to them either

Regardless of who you are with big or small companies they are all being hit with the PPI and Vat Issues so there is no point scoring or blowing a trumpet coz 1 company replies to you swiftly and another does not Its the same as any large organisation example Ford get more complaints about their cars than say a tiny car company why because they have sold more card hence more complaints

As I wrote if you re read my post I worked for the Govt and they get an awful lot of criticism for work and jobs not being done myself and others worked like trojans all day doing our absolute best but we got '' tarred '' with that oh you work for the govt label you are useless so thats all I was pointing out

Maybe a check could be done on the forum to count the complaints and the pro comments that will give an accurate record of how things are in the larger real world
Pretty obvious to me if there are so many complaints then there is a wider issue and not tarring anybody thats fact

I could run an IVA company with 10 customers and give them top notch service that does not mean every IVA company has the same level of service as I would give so would that be fair to say Oh you are useless too no of course not but thats the world we live in

Im not moaning and I fully support you Orchid 5 you go get em tiger !!! all I was saying is we are finished and we should be dealt with at the end Never mind the oh its not that simple and straight forward Yes it is they have had 5 years to prepare for the end date and they know the same as every single IVA company what date you complete and what is needed to sort it out PPI and Vat has been going on for months and months How long do they need to ring a few people up and check there records a week at the most not xxxx number of months get real I sent mine back last year how long do they need huh !

All I can say Orchid 5 is we have completed and done what we set out to do our primary mission is complete I wish you well with your complaint and hope you get that sorted.
stay strong and keep fighting Shouldnt have to do all this and this is my point it should be done and dusted on your last day and a certificate in your letter box in 10 working days

They know you will make the last payments they know what monies they have and will get so its not rocket science and regardless if they have 100000000 customers YOU are finishing on that date ! and should be dealt with as a top customer who has done everything and not a new customer who could mess them about etc

Miss a payment ask a regular question you get the runaround as seems very common in this forum

I have had wonderful professional and polite excellent service and excellent customer care I have Zero complaints about my IVA Company I am just pointing out that when you finish that you should have it all wrapped up I am sure the IVA companies themselves want you off their books too I am sure they are sick to death with moaning customers on the phone all day

As we all were happy to have them help us at the start we cant then turn round and get all snotty with them when it goes wrong Its not an issue they created and perhaps as you say when the big cheeses start reading the issues here they will take note and focus on the customer care and put better practices in place to deal with them
Legal stuff is complex we are just minions we put our trust and faith in them and thats all we can do

Just be glad you are at past the finish line and not at the start and gain strength from that and dont get all stressed about it 5 years is enough for anybody you dont need more hassle so point that out too !

Icepop, with the greatest of respect to you, you are a new member and presumably haven't been able to read all the postings that have been posted over the last year, hence my having said the majority aren't happy.

I too work for the government and have done so for over 30 years and to be honest if a complaint comes in it is dealt with in a very professional manner and all queries, concerns are addressed within a given time frame.

Whilst i don't expect to be treated as a priority what i do expect is some courtesy and if someone tells me they will get back to me shortly then that is exactly what i expect them to do, i don't expect to be placated by someone just paying lip service to me in the hope that i go away.

I'm more than happy to be at the finishing line however there is something missing which will enable me to move forward completely and of course there is the issue of the substantial amount of surplus funds as well.

i wish you well in your endeavour to get your completion certificate, good luck and best wishes.

Well, i now know that DFD have received both letters sent to them via recorded delivery, as yet no reply and i have found out today from EIF that CITI have still not paid them the PPI refund and this has been going on since July, they have now issued them with a 14 day notice, god knows what that means as they did this earlier on in the year and it did diddly squat, so i think tomorrow will be spent ringing them once i have spoken to the FLA again, deary me the saga continues!

I so hope so Melanie, i have actually now made a complaint to the FLA as this is not acceptable and to be honest if both parties had chased this up before now, i wouldn't have to be doing this.

Thanks Niobe but unfortunately i can't see it at the moment, i've had to send a letter to CITI once again via guaranteed delivery and sign for tomorrow because of the looming holidays, by the time i will have finished they will owe me all the postage etc lol. x
