hi, i was wondering if somebody could help!

Long term reader...first time poster...!

I was successful in completing my IVA in June this year through a F&F settlement..(wahoo debt over)...im now looking to see what options i have as i would like to purchase a house...(debt again d'oh!)...well a mortgage so suppose its not the same...

anyway...i have obtained my credit report from Call Credit initially...for one of my creditors (MBNA...which was then sold onto a debt agency?) the default is showing as settled...i was just wondering if my other creditors should be showing as a settled default...as currently they are showing as still defaulted.... i think that makes sense...

thanks [:p]

I think I am right but the experts will tell you. Once you get your Completion Certificate you can clean up up your credit file by getting your reports from the three credit agencies. Then you write to the companies to with a copy of your CC and they should show your credit as settled or satisfied. Your credit file should show clear after 6 years from the time you went into the IVA???

On the mortgage front contact Ryan, who is our resident expert in this field, he can give advice as to how to improve your chances, and has helped a few posters get their mortgages placed.
My opinions are merely that .. opinions based on experience. Always seek professional advice.
IVA Completed 23rd July 2013 .... C.C. 10th January 2014

so im confused, shall i write to them with copies of my completion certificate...will that sort my credit situation out now...

or is it a case of even though the IVA is cleared its still going to be 6 years from the date of my IVA acceptance to get any sort of chance for a mortgage anyway?!

Your IVA will remain on your record for six years regardless.

Any defaults after the date of IVA acceptance can be removed by writing to those creditors enclosing a copy of your completion letter.

As Foggy says - contact Ryan who may well be able to help on the mortgage front.
