Just a question regarding my partner debt, I am currently half way through my iva, well actuall I have 2 years left.

My partner has 11k debt, which she is struggling to deal with, with the added cost of living the total house is struggling to deal with the what to do...

Cost of the car has gone up with work needed to pass mot but can't afford to replace it.

Gas and electric gone up but where do I cut the spending more its hard to decide where to do with out!

Petrol, I did my iva on just to get me to work, the cost has gone up more so again making me choose what to cut...

I have spoke to my IP, who said it would be a waste to stop this iva as over the half way mark, but she did understand and suggested to review the income and expenditure.

How do I show that the cost of travel has gone up?

We have cut our shopping habits, we don't buy what we don't need and we can see it as we don't fill our bins like we used to do. We are feeling the pinch a lot more, we are selling old toys, DVD & unwanted things but it has ran out.

Hello jleeper, if the truth be told, when we all do our income and expenditure forms, we generally undercut ourselves when it comes to motoring expenses. Petrol prices are ridulously volatile and you cant really look 12 months into the future as far as thats concerned. Mechanics are very expensive, parts, tax etc. it is very difficult. I think the easiest way is to be brutally frank with your IP about the expenditures. They will understand. Lets face it, these IPs have the same motoring costs as we do so they know how seriously expensive it is. But if you dont tell them of your position, they're not going to know. Keep and send them fuel receipts, repair bills etc. They may suggest another I&E.

Hi,

You will probably need to provide receipts to show that the cost of travel has gone up for you.

You can ask to do another I&E if you wish to.

Is your partner doing anything to deal with her debt?

Is the fact that your partner is trying to repay her debt in full putting additional strain on an already stretched budget? Is her debt due to just one creditor or is it an aggregate of a number of smaller balances?

Is her mother paying the full amount for the loans your partner has taken out for her?
