We thought it was over !?
Our joint IVA was completed September this year after 5 plus tough years and we duly received our completion certificates thinking that was it. We have now received letters & loan account details from Santander stating we are still in arrears. A payment is shown as having been made in 2011, and further interest on the balance has been posted as at November 2012 and added to the balance.
Despite sending copies of the completion certificates, Santander have not answered our letters. The result of many frustrating hours on the phone to Santander was that they did not know about the IVA and they implied that the arrears still stood. (original debt was with Alliance & Leicester not Santander)
Whilst I have not checked our credit file our house insurer's have just turned down our annual monthly payment renewal (has been going through all the while the IVA ran 2006 -2012) so we wonder if this is related?
Any ideas please ?
Thanks
Mike
Is it me or are Santander heading for the "Most Irritating Lender of the Month" award!
Joking aside, Mike, if your IVA has been closed, and these debts were propertly included in the IVA, the letters are complete waste of time and should be disregarded or sent to your former IP for them to deal with on your behalf.
Many thanks Melanie, the debt is correctly listed on the IVA, but as Alliance & Leicester (which it was at the time) who were taken over by Santander during our IVA, will forward the letters on to the IP.
Have noticed other posts with ''Santander'' issues - so yes most irritating they are !
Thanks again.
