Jamie -- I take your point regarding the hidden work. However, many companies merely use a scattergun approach and put in claims willy nilly, hoping for an uncontested refund.
My opinions are merely that .. opinions based on experience. Always seek professional advice.
IVA Completed 23rd July 2013 .... C.C. 10th January 2014
This is true and the MOJ have sent warning out to claims companies. In addition the SRA (our regulatory body) have also contacted legal firm who are also processing claims. To answer Niobe query I was working with them not for them in March.

Nobody minds who you work for as long as there is no advertising (which I know you haven't done), it's just when it appears that you are not who you seem to be that is a problem.
Thats fine i find this forum really usefull for seeing the process from the debtor clients perspective. Main issue seems to be IVAs being kept open when they should be closed. Getting a perspective from debtor clients allows us to improve our service.

I would like David Mond to please explain why Cleardebt seem to wait until their clients have paid there final payment then drop the PPI bombshell on them.I have asked this question numerous times & the only answer i get repeatedly is & i quote
"ClearDebt have acted on this information as swiftly as possible, however, as you can appreciate there are a significant number of cases to be investigated so the Arrangements approaching completion are being prioritised".
Funny really,This PPI saga has been known for at least 12 months & Cleardebt have never mentioned it to myself,so the statement above does not ring true & i still have no clear answer to why this was not investigated lets say 6 months ago so it would have been sorted before my final payment. If i had not contaceted Cleardebt about PPI then i do not know when they would have informed me of it.
I think it really disgraceful that we have complied fully with our IVA & this is how we get treated at the end of it.
Do Cleardebt not understand what ive been through the last 6 years (my doing completely,of course)& that i want & demand that i get on with my life immediately.I have followed the rules, now please let me get on with my life.

he does seem to be following the activity on this forum so no doubt will want to respond to your points.
A question for Jamie.73:
As someone who works in the PPI reclaims industry, are you aware of the arrangements in place with any IP or IVA company with regard to commission or introductory fees? To clarify, is it possible for an IP or IVA company to profit by referring one of their debtors to a claims management company who in turn will pay that IP or IVA company either a finder’s fee or commission etc.?
7 years after starting an IVA I finally received a completion certificate from ClearDebt
this is an interesting point. Speaking for myself and based on meetings I have had it is clear that a legal firm is within its rights to offer a refferal fee. However i am not sure if that firm should be able to accept such a fee. I have had meetings with a senior experienced IP who is on the liscensing board and his view was a introducers fee could not be accepted. On the other hand others believe it can. I beleive that an IVA firm would be absolutley fine putting in a timed cost however. This issue with us any how has only been raised in the event of completed / closed IVAs. A bigger issue is that of set off which claims management companies seem to be unable to deal with as they have no legal muscle. (Please note these are strictly my personal opinions)
