Morning'..... Niobe, it is on their website about the standing charges being introduced, think I found it under the FAQ section, Struzzo...they've not had the courtsey to write to me yet but was announced on the news initially and its on Atlantics website!! I've been up with the birds checking comparison websites, got a quote through confused.com for EDF, they are quite a bit cheaper than what I am paying now, its accepted me for now but will have to wait until it actually hits EDFs system I suppose til I know for definite, I assume confused.com don't credit check on behalf of the companies......ah well won't know unless I try!!

Winter blues....I also agree, its always just before the cold weather starts, grrrrrrr..... If no one will have me, my other solution is, don't put my heating on and live in thick jumpers and extra blankets and if I get a really bad cold/flu or my asthma is affected than I will have to stay off work thus saving me extortionate petrol and food prices, so should break even by March!!

You can actually choose to stay on the NSC tariff if you wish.

Unfortunately, as we have a baby in the house, not putting the heating on isn't an option for us.

my two penneth worth !!

Im with EDF & my fixed rate ends in 10 days time

Ive switched over to their BLUE tariff, which informs you by email at anythime through the cotract they find a competitor cheaper . not sure if they price match if they do find a cheaper competitor but they allow you yo leave at any time without payment of a penalty

They were also very competitive when using the price comparison sites of uswitch & tescocompare

FYI British Gas on the comparison sites 2 weeks ago where thE dearest in the market

I think im following in the footsteps of my late father, who we ( and himself ) always said was a font of useless information !!
Hey that was my late fathers saying also? Are we related? Lol xx

I tried to switch to SWALEC a few years ago and was told that because my credit rating was poor I'd have to pay £150 up front to switch. In the end I stayed with N Power and just changed tariffs. Interestingly SAWLEC rang me the other day offering me a new deal. I told him about my attempts to switch a few years ago and he said they don't do that now. However I wasn't convinced. As I'd only just changed my tariff again I'm happy to stay with N Power. Out of interest anyone else switched over to SWALEC recently without being charged a deposit?

I have no knowlegde about energy deal so used one of the websites that compare prices. You just need to give them information about your current bills and they will find you a cheaper deal. I used Tower Utility.
