I've just received a letter from a company called Tyler Moore which I thought I would share with you all. The first part of the letter goes on about how they can correct my credit file if I sent them a copy of my credit report. The second part says the following:
The enclosed newsletter explains how you are likely to be entitled to compensation for the loans and credit cards that went into your IVA. Banks try and withold refunds after an IVA, but as almost all of our work is for people who have gone through an IVA we are able to get the refunds paid to you. Some claims have time limits on them so the sooner you start your claim the more you can recover. All the claims we handle are on a No Win No Fee basis, if you don't receive compensation you don't pay us.
IVA finished Oct 2011, CC received 27 April 2012, No longer on Insolvency Register 01 May 2012. Jan 2013 - all Credit Files squeaky clean
It just a claims company and they won't care if you get the money or if your creditors get it. They get their fee. The FSA has suggested you don't use claims companys, as it possible the creditors may reject the claims fee take the lot and then the fee will land on your lap
If a claim is made and you have an IVA history do it yourself
Wouldn't surprise me, sponge. Trouble is, with everything in a state of flux at the moment it is a bit dangerous to get one of these firms to open that particular can o' worms.
My opinions are merely that .. opinions based on experience. Always seek professional advice.
IVA Completed 23rd July 2013 .... C.C. 10th January 2014
I would never want to battle with my creditors again.
I would be interested to know where they get their information from - when your removed - and it happens very soon after your certificate is issued - from the Insolvency Register you just stop being on it. Your details are gone.
Must be picking up names and addresses from elsewhere - do hope no ones selling them on though.
But they'll be wasting their time with me.
I copied my completion certificate today and framed it up for the loo - I smile now everytime I have a pee.
Wouldn't touch anyone like this with a ten foot barge pole.
They are the opposite of the ambulance chasers at the start of an IVA - they trawl the register, have no idea of your circumstances and so should be avoided.
3 months relates to bankruptcy, not IVA's. Details of an IVA can be, and often are, removed within a few days of a completion certificate being issued.

Yes I did wonder how they got my details as I have been off the register since the beginning of May unless they have a historical record of the register then calculated I would have finished and double checked that against the register recently. It does open up by saying how to clean up your credit file post IVA and I have a post IVA newsletter that came with the letter.
I don't intend to do anything but it just took me by surprised when I opened it....yes I agree let sleeping dogs lie!

Three months relates to IVA - BR drops off as soon as discharge date is up.
This from the IR FAQ section on how long details remain on the register:
Depending on the type of entry, details stay on The Register as follows:
· Bankruptcy: for 3 months after the date of the individual’s discharge from bankruptcy. The entry is removed earlier if the bankruptcy is annulled.
· IVA: until completion, revocation or the failure of the arrangement.
· BROs/BRUs: until the date stipulated in the court order or undertaking. The entry is also removed earlier if the bankruptcy order is annulled on the grounds that the order ought not to have been made.
My own details disappeared from the register 1 working day after I received my CC.
