My IVA ended on 27/7/2011 but on checking my Experian Credit Report its still showing. I was under the impression they were removed after 6 years, which should have been 4 days ago. Do I need to send Experian a copy of my certificate of completion, and if so, are there any other agencies I need to send a copy to to get my credit records updated?
I feel like I can move mountains. I just wish I could sort out the weather.

You need to check the status is showing as discharged and the start date is correct. If not showing as discharged you need to send in a copy of your certificate otherwise it will remain on there forever. You need to also check Equifax and callcredit.

There's no mention of a discharge. Is that something my IP should have done or was it always my job? I kinda wish I'd been told this.
If I send the relevant copies today, will the record come of reasonably quickly or are we talking a year or something similar?

It may be that they're a bit slow in updating the records. I take it you've come off the Insolvency Register?
You could send them a copy of your certificate but, as suggested above, you need to check the others as well. You can check Call Credit for free by signing up to Noddle.

I am no longer on the Insolvency Register.
Each of my defaults have come off my Experian Credit Report on the day they became 6 years old. However, two are remaining and they still show default as opposed to settled. I guess I'm going to have to contact these creditors myself to have them marked settled before they will come off?
I'll get going on all the above this weekend. I do really appreciate the help above from you all. It seems there's always a few loose ends to be tied up at the end of an IVA, its such a shame the IP can't do all this at the end of the IVA

You need to check two areas of the report. The court data section should have the IVA removed. If it is still on there you need to click the report a problem link and raise a dispute, they will ask for a scan of your certificate.
In the credit agreements section check that all date of default are the start date of your IVA or before, they should have dropped off now, it's likely that the default dates are wrong. You can write to the creditors but some are quicker to update if you click on the raise a dispute link on the online credit report. All records must be removed after 6 years. Experian is the most accurate and will remove 6 years and 1 day afterwards. Equifax can take 6 years and 14 or so days, call credit usually remove them a few days under that.
You need to check all three agencies by usually if the data corrects with one agency the other two update automatically but sometimes this doesn't happen.
Clearing your credit files is nothing to do with your IP. It's your job to sort out I'm afraid.
Good luck.

And remember though credit files are very important new credit will be assessed using the current criteria - the days of pre approved applications are long gone. Best advice is ifyou don't need it don't fillin the form. No one impressed by 12 credit cards anymore - One well kept one is so much better
