Hi all. Just wanted to update on this. I heard back from GT who have stated that I can opt out of EIC and sign a declaration of no claim, which means I cannot claim in the future. I have no intention of doing so and dont think there would be much to claim, in light of the fact that it would be the people Im claiming from that I owed the money to!! They said they would contact me regarding signing the paperwork and then it would be placed on my file. Last payment tomorrow! Cant quite believe it but really hoping that the advice given and my decision not to allow this to happen doesnt effect the closure of our Iva, whenever that may be!

That's very interesting. I would be happy to sign such a declaration and hopefully speed up completion. I'm just waiting to hear from them.

Hi
I've also been told the same thing by GT when I queried the EIC letter in an email. I'm just waiting for the declaration of no claim to sign! I also wanted to say that my email was responded to in around a couple of hours and I have always found GT to be very courteous and helpful.

Hi I to have not had any ppi , remember being asked but always refused as it was enough paying the loan.
It's about 10 days when I contacted GT and said we don't have any claims to claim.
They said they would send a document for us to sign saying we would never claim ourselves, which we never had any intention of doing anyway.
Still waiting for said form.

Its a relief to see GT are suggesting an 'opt out'. Nicer even if they had considered this before sending out the letters.

And I'm not sure if it shouldn't be an 'opt in' to fully meet Data Protection Regulations about third party sharing of information and wonder about the ligitimacy and 'policing' of any future claims restriction post IVA -

But good news if it gets things moving.

An 'Opt In' would certainly have been a better idea.
I am still waiting to here from them but Opting Out seems to be the way I'll be going.

But it is now well past the 10 days from the date of the letter (19th July) so have they already passed on the details to EIC.

They are still being very quiet.

I hope you recevie a declaration to sign very soon.

Well done on completing (tomorrow) it'll be a great feeling watching that last payment go out your account as next month it's all yours!

I have replied that I do wish to opt out and the will send me a declaration to sign.
I hope that will be the end of it.
