quick question, after the last payment is made, whilst we are waiting for this certificate, are we still bound by the terms, i.e. overtime clause etc? surely after the last payment, our money is ours to do with as we wish, for me, this has been a long time coming.

hi, ivanotoveryet, can I just ask, have you emailed GT? I havent but to be honest, not in the right frame of mind. Things are getting on top of me at the minute. Last payment due out on 1st, thought I had done it!

I have emailed them this morning but haven't heard anything back. I was kind of hoping that Grant Thornton here on the forums might be able to help out but nothing there either.

I understand how you feel, I was on top of the world when I made my last payment last November but now it just seems to be going on and on and I'm so depressed about it I feel nearly as bad as I did when I started this all although not quite suicidal yet like I was in 2006.
IVA Completed!

Final payment made November 2011.

I'm really not in the right frame of mind either to contact GT at the moment.
I'll see what turns up here first if anything.
That last payment in Dec seems a long time ago now and the excitement of it has long worn off by now.
Final payment made Dec 2011.
Certificate of Completion arrived 26th Sept 2012

I know the feeling. I thought I'd never feel depressed again but I've had a relapse.

Doesn't look like anything's going to be said here. As someone commented on another thread I also suspect that GT's involvement in this forum will diminish with all the recent complaints and issues being raised.

If clients do not have the records to enable the claim to be investigated, they should ask their IP who is going to fund the cost of obtaining copy statements. If the eventual claim is to be an asset of the arrangement, then the cost should also be a cost of the arrangement.

Well I got that letter too and I have already received my completion cert in April!! I rang them and the guy on the phone was clueless. He said he would get a specialist team to ring me about it even though he said his job was to specifically deal with people getting these letters. Anyway the "specialist team" who turn out to be customer service! rang me and they think I received it in error. Appartently all GT customers have been sent the letter. What annoys me is that when they sent the PPI claims (claims direct letters) out last Feb I rang them and told them under NO circumstance were they to pass my details onto claims direct however they IGNORED me and still sent them on as then I basically got harassed by them. I've also put in a complaint to GT last April and have heard absolutely nothing from them!

I queried the EIC issue with ivaclosures 2 weeks ago, I received an e'mail reply telling me that GT would post a full explanation on this forum, unfortunately the explanatory letter was as clear as mud so I'm still no further forward.

I haven't had any contact from EIC and it's now more than 4 months since my final payment and closure of my IVA seems to be going nowhere fast.

What have I got to do to get a straight answer to a very simple question: Will my IVA still be closed within the 6 months promised or is this EIC issue going to extend the closure period even further??

I have posted on this forum for more than 5 years and in all that time I have always had positive things to say about GT.

Unfortunately I regret to say that the level of service and lack of communication being provided during my closure process is nothing short of abysmal!!!!!
IVA COMPLETED ON THE 17th MARCH, FINAL I&E COMPLETED 26th APRIL, COMPLETION CERTIFICATE ARRIVED 2nd AUGUST

I agree northumbrian.
In true 1966 fashion, I thought it was all over, I am also approaching 4 months into my closure process.
The supposed explanation email posted on here from GT made about as much sense as the original letter.
As I mentioned in an earlier post, i'm normally not a negative poster regarding iva's and GT, and, to be honest, if I was only 6 months into my iva I wouldn't care what was happening behind the scenes, but to seemingly have the rug pulled from under my feet at this stage does tug at my last nerve a bit.

I agree, for months since we did by F&F, when I asked when it would be due to closure they told me some time in october, that was about 5or 6 weeks ago. Don't know now with all this going on.
fed up disappointed
and depressed.
Keep sending emails, no reply most of the time.

They are not the company working with me but I would like to say I do feel for you all, the frustration of getting to the end and then having a hurdle placed can't be nice. I do hope that this is cleared up soon and completions are done so timely. x
IVA final payment left the bank on the 26th January 2013...looking forward to a debt free future.

I have to admit even though I've made my own post about this EIC letter, it's all making me feel uncomfortable about completetion & I'm not even there yet.
It seems to be very unfair when we have worked so hard to get through a IVA to have a hurdle like this thrown at us.
Final IVA payment made in April 2013, never ever thought we could do it or get through it but we did! X

Regarding what's melanie has said above, I personally have no copies at all. I personally kept the last statement I recieved prior to the IVA & any default notices or further correspondence after the IVA was forwarded to my IP at the time at BE. Im sorry but im not paying for duplicate copies when it's not me personally whom wants to peruse this, as far as I'm concerned this is GT wanting too.

Once our iva was agreed in 2007, I had a bonfire with all our bank correspondence, threatening letters et al.
The resulting blaze could be seen 20 miles away.
