My IP has already had a payback of charges into my account. I've been told that they don't need permission to chase after these.

I think it's 6 years from when the loan was last "live", Nick, which in our cases is from the end of the IVA.
I have just been paid ( well my IP has) PPI dated from 2005.
If its the end of the IVA then over the preceding six years you will have incurred zero charges..
If it is six years from the start of your IVA that is a potential of twelve years ago and from what I have seen no one is paying back for charges from twelve years ago..

The PPI reclaim and the charges reclaim are different things and are handled differently..
Also the PPI stuff is from when the last payment was made so the loan could have started in 2005 but the last payment could have been later, or could still have been live as you were in an IVA.

Having been in a DMP prior to going into the IVA whereby all interest and charges were frozen then I'm past the six year point now for charges.

After a 9 month wait i received my completion certificate in June, this morning i received a letter from Grant Thornton dated 19th July asking to respond within 10 days as it is more than 10 days old i guess they may have started the claim process, what i'm concerned about, is my completion certificate safe or can it be reversed as the iva will be open untill closed after the claim completes, this is quite a worry to me as my health has deterioated and i have had to hand my notice in. Regards David.

Sounds like they've made an error David, how can they now start sending letters to people who've had a CC?
At least you've had your certificate, I've got the letter while I'm still waiting for mine and now I'm panicking about the closure taking even longer

IVA Completed!
Final payment made November 2011.
CoC received 12/10/12.

A lot of posters have had these letters. I think there may have been a problem with the date.
You have your certificate so you are quite safe - it can't be reversed.
