Hi everyone,

For anyone renewing home insurance I have just saved over £90 getting quotes from confused.com and Legal & General came out at £142 and that's buildings & contents including accidental damage with low excess!.

Did it all online and they allowed me to pay by direct debit with NO awkward questions!.

Well chuffed!.[:)]

I did the same with my car and used insurance Dial Direct online underwritten by Zurich and got a FAB DEAL and includes FULL RAC breakdown cover and like you no tricky questions re monthly payments some companies will not let you pay monthly but I could only afford car insurance if monthly I only pay £16 per month for fully comp, and this company protects your NCB (mine was 9 years) for £1 per year extra !! I have now manged to get my mobile bill down and car insurance so budgeting is WORKING !

Hi I have now worked out how to post on the site...just to say shopping around re insurance deals is crucial but it does take time and if you work full time doing all this is very time consuming but worth it! I am a student mature and work part time so have the time to do it....wish I had been this vigilant all those years I built up stupid, senseless debt!

Also opened my Cashminder at co-op and will ditch Barclays ! Co-op were great and I feel like I am turning a corner and the IVA just has to blend into my background for 5 years!

Just had my car insurance renewal come through, it's not automatically renewed this year and I have to phone them if I want to renew. It's with Tesco who use their own finance for monthly payments, but they are a creditor in my IVA for around £8k so I guess I'll be switching this year [8D]

Confused have Kwik-fit as cheapest, although monthly payments seem to be a rip-off, can't afford to pay upfront though so I'll have to try with them (just hope i'm accepted for monthly payments).
The hardest part is telling a stranger about your problems ...... it's also the most important!

Completion Certificate Received! :D

I'm with the Co-op for my car insurance and this is my third year with them. My policy has only gone up £11 since I joined them, and some of that was because I lowered my excess and upgraded the courtesy car.

They also have a very low APR for monthly payments.
