So, I've signed the proposal and MCD received it this morning so that's it, just got to wait for the creditors meeting (which could possibly be Friday 13th eek!) I know what people meant now when they have talked about counting down the days! x

Thank you do much everyone for your good wishes. It's very much appreciated x am wondering now about whether to cancel my direct debits to my creditors, I haven't missed a payment yet and it just feels 'bad' although the money Ill 'save' will make a huge difference this month, it's just a worry in case the IVA is rejected but I guess if that's the case I'll be going BR or DMP anyway! I think it's the finality of it all and letting go of my credit rating for the foreseeable future! Would it be a good idea to telephone my creditors and explain the situation and offer a token payment? Or just keep quiet as if the IVA goes to plan it will only mean missing one payment? Ahhhh, so may questions! Like Tina S says, there will be loads more posts to come! So grateful to everyone on this forum - you really are a Godsend xx

Cancel the payments because in the unlikely event that the IVA is rejected you are not in a position to continue to repay creditors as normal. Also if the IVA is accepted your credit file will be damaged anyway so you are wasting good money making payments now.

Thanks Michael, should I inform the creditors or just wait until they contact me? Will this have any impact on my IVA proposal?
