Sorry to butt in. I am at the end of my journey (Hopefully) and just come back to the forum. It is so important your choice IP is right. I made that wrong choice. Melanie Giles along with Andy Davie gave some good advice nearly 6 years ago, after my nightmare. Their experience is unattainable. Going forward, make sure it is right for you and you use the forum. Many a word is spoken, Actions speak louder than words. Be measured, although not sure you can change your IP. I wish you sincere luck.

HI AR! Any news today?

Good post Charliech - the choice of IP is so important and you need to feel comfortable with the person and the advice from the off. That's why it's always a good idea to speak to two or three debt advisors/IPs beofre making a decision. It is almost impossible to change your IP so you have to be sure you can work together for a good few years LOL!!

Well, I didn't choose Grant Thornton. My IVA was sold to them.

Well, I spoke to GT yesterday and they did apologise for not contacting me on Monday.
I at least now know exactly what the delay is. There was an issue surrounding who had the voting rights with two parties both disputing that it wasn't theirs.
GT have convinced the relevant body that it is actually theirs and so we are now facing a 2 week wait while KPMG(who have the rights) update their systems. A variation meeting will then be held to enable them to vote. GT see no reason why they would vote no, and assured me they are not trying to convince them to change from a 'no' vote.
GT informed me rejection papers will be sent out for the variation meeting of this week but assured me this was just routine and we weren't to worry. It will reconvene in 2 weeks or so. I don't have a date yet as I don't believe one has been set. I am hopeful I will be informed when a date is agreed.
All very well and good to know now, but I could have been saved an awful lot of stress, missed meals and lack of sleep if I could have been informed of all of this from the start. I am the sort of person who needs to know everything!
Thanks for asking, BOL.
Completion Certificate received September 2012.

Hopefully this will get resolved for you shortly and you can put the whole IVA behind you. I often think it is unfair for clients to be passed from IP to IP without their agreement, but in reality it would be very difficult for an IP firm selling their IVA book to consult with every client to see where they would like to be "rehomed".

AR I sincerely hope this is soon sorted and you can get closure.
IVA final payment left the bank on the 26th January 2013...looking forward to a debt free future.

Thanks Melanie. To be fair, GT have been an awful lot more compassionate and understanding than Blair Endersby ever were! I have to give credit where credit is due to them for that.
I understand they are busy and that my call back was a genuine oversight. I feel a lot happier and calmer now, knowing the full facts and I'm sure they now understand I'm the sort of person who likes to be informed every step of the way and I hope we can work together over the next few weeks to complete this once and for all.

Uncertainty is the worst. Now you know you have two weeks to go you can get on with life and not be in perpetually waiting for something to happen.

It all sounds positive re the voting rights and future acceptance!

Glad you're feeling happier! The time will fly x
