Hi I completed an IVA in May 2011 but have still not received any formal completion documentation and my credit report still shows an active IVA. Every time I speak to Grant Thornton they inform me to wait for another 6 months! What is a realistic timeline for the completion documentation and are there any governing bodies I can escalate this too? We won't to rebuild our lives post IVA but are unable to remove this dark cloud! Your advice is greatfully appreciated
Your IVA will remain active until you get your completion letter and will remain on your credit record for six years even though you have finished payments.
This is a long time to have to wait for your letter - I know they had a problem with the VAT but would have thought that you should have had it by now. Did you have to make a PPI claim at all?
You will have to go through GT's internal complaints system before complaining to anyone outsidew.

We have recently revised our closure process and we now have a dedicated team to answer concerns for clients in closure - email them at ivacustomerservices@uk.gt.com and they will be able to give you accurate information regarding your case.
Kind Regards
Karol
My final payment was in feb 2012 so not quite as long ago as your final payment.
I am with Grant Thornton, was moved from Blair Endersby.
Every time I call to find out what is going on I always seem to get the same response, Your case is going for final review and take up to 6 months for closure.
I have emailed the closure team at iva.closures@uk.gt.com and have asked them to keep me in the loop so to speak. They have booked me into their diary for an update mid July, although I feel I know what the outcome will be...... ANOTHER 6 months!
Hi all thanks for your responses. I have tried to call GT today but line constantly busy! We received a letter from GT today which was dated 23.05.12 (probs with postal system also) which is from administrator basically informing creditors that they consider all payments to be complete but still no letter of completion. The last previous credible correspondence was in December 2011 which was to inform us that the case has been passed to the closures team which takes 6 months. We will have been on the IVA for 7 years by the time we finally get the documentation. Pretty sure if I was to treat repayments which such a casual approach things would have escalated pretty rapidly, I kept my side of the bargain why can't they keep theirs??
pete.pt - I am sorry that you experienced difficulty contacting us yesterday,as I mentioned in post we now have a dedicated team to answer closure queries, however the email address is iva.closures@uk.gt.com not as my post above. Please do contact them and we will be able to give you a full update on the closure of your case
Kind Regards
Karol
You should definately be provided with the actual reasons for the delay in the closure of your case, which hopefully the new dedicated team will be able to provide.
I hope you can find out the cause of the delay. I am now aware of what is holding my closure up and it is totally out of Grant Thornton's hands. Good luck and keep us posted.
